About the Role
To act as the on-site insurance specialist (implant) for a large corporate client, managing their end-to-end General Insurance portfolio (Property, Engineering, Marine, Liability lines), ensuring optimal coverage structuring, seamless servicing, efficient claims handling, and strategic risk advisory. The role combines technical broking expertise, relationship management, and operational ownership within the client’s environment.
Role Differentiator
This is not a traditional broking role. The individual will function as an embedded risk and insurance manager within the client’s ecosystem, combining:
- Broker market access
- Technical advisory capability

Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Account Ownership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the single point of contact for all insurance-related matters at the client location
- Build strong working relationships with:
Plant teams
Finance & accounts
Procurement
Legal & leadership stakeholders
- Ensure high service standards and act as a trusted risk advisor
- Proactively identify service gaps / red flags and resolve issues before escalation.
2. Data, MIS & Compliance
- Maintain:
Policy database
Claims tracker
Renewal calendar
- Prepare, maintain and update periodic MIS reports for client and internal teams
- Ensure:
- Conduct weekly calls with the various teams within Client organization for regular submission on Stocks Declarations and Marine Declarations.
- Generate Marine Certificates as required by the logistics team.
Conduct Monthly Calls with the Plant Teams for updates on upcoming Capex projects.
Prepare and submit Annual EAR submissions.
Prepare and submit Marine and Stocks declarations to the insurance companies.
Support Client on Internal process requests such as Purchase requisitions (PR), coordinating payments with finance teams and preparing summaries for management submissions.
Compliance with audit requirements
Alignment with regulatory frameworks and broker code of conduct
- Support reconciliation of insurer accounts (CD statements, premium tracking) etc.
3. Policy Management & Placement

Manage the entire insurance lifecycle, including:
Renewals, mid-term adjustments, endorsements
RFQ preparation and submission to insurers
Quote comparison (QCRs) with detailed coverage analysis

Structure and place policies across:
Property (Fire/IAR)
Engineering (CAR/EAR)
Workers Compensation Policy (WC)
Marine (STOP Policy)
Liability (CGL, D&O, Cyber, Crime, etc.)
Other miscellaneous policies like Travel and Motor
Identify coverage gaps and recommend enhancements or bespoke wordings
Ensure alignment with contractual insurance requirements
4. Risk Assessment & Technical Advisory
- Conduct detailed risk reviews of client operations (plants, projects, logistics)
- Translate operational exposures into insurance solutions
- Work with risk engineering teams for:
Risk inspections
Risk improvement recommendations
- Present:
Risk maps
Renewal strategies
Coverage benchmarking vs market
5. Claims Management & Advocacy
- Support the Claims team in managing the end-to-end claims process, including:
Claim intimation and documentation
Coordination with surveyors and insurers
Query resolution and negotiation support
- Track claims status and ensure timely settlement
- Maintain strong oversight to maximize claim outcomes
6. Commercial & Strategic Contribution
- Support revenue growth through:
Cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
Identification of uninsured exposures
- Assist in:
New proposal placements
Gap analysis for additional lines
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Expertise
- Good knowledge of:
Property & Engineering insurance (critical)
Marine and Liability lines
- Ability to:
Draft RFQs and analyze policy wordings
Conduct coverage gap analysis

- Excellent negotiation and insurer coordination skills
- Strong analytical capability (policy comparison, risk mapping)

Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in General Insurance (Corporate / Broking)
- Experience handling large corporate or multi-location clients preferred
- Educational Background in Engineering / Finance preferred
