Description

Join WTW and contribute to our global Cyber Acceleration Program (CAP).

WTW is one year into a three-year global initiative focused on delivering the Cyber Acceleration Program (CAP). The program encompasses a number of projects across Cyber Security and wider technology domains, including Networks, Cloud, Identity and Data, supported by several workstreams and an established roadmap of projects. You’ll be part of a talented, energetic and globally located team, working in a dynamic environment alongside both internal teams and external suppliers, all with a shared motivation to succeed.

Provide Architectural & hands-on technical delivery of the Illumio Segmentation platform within the Cyber Acceleration Programme (CAP), ensuring the effective deployment, configuration, and optimisation of controls across hybrid Azure and multi-cloud environments. The role focuses on implementing the Illumio Segmentation solution for in-scope critical applications/across the wider cloud environment, ensuring adherence to best practice & security principles.

The role is responsible for design & implementation of the solution and creation of documentation prior to operational handover.

Working closely with application, architecture, cloud engineering, and cyber security teams, the role ensures cloud networks are secure and effectively segmented.

The Role

  • Serve as a hands-on engineering resource with deep Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Illumio, including proven experience designing and deploying solutions within Azure using cloud native constructs (e.g not agents) at enterprise scale.
  • Ability to utilise the Illumio platform for application dependency mapping and traffic flow analysis to prepare and provision network segmentation policies to secure critical applications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify and resolve technical blockers as they arise, driving issues through to resolution with minimal escalation.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the internal Illumio deployment team, contributing to design decisions, implementation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Possess strong experience in documenting and defining operational processes, procedures, and workflows, ensuring repeatability and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Operate in the capacity of a Lead Engineer, providing technical direction, oversight, and guidance across the deployment lifecycle.
  • Maintain flexibility in working hours where required to support project milestones and global stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant years of hands-on experience implementing the Illumio Segmentation platform within Azure using cloud native controls.
  • Hold a strong cloud engineering and cloud networking foundation independent of Illumio, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues across Azure environments.
  • Relevant years of experience working with native Azure networking constructs (e.g., VNets, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers) and integrating these effectively alongside Illumio.
  • Ability to design and implement solutions leveraging cloud-native controls and architectures (such as NSGs), ensuring tight integration with Azure networking and security capabilities. Capable of extending beyond simple deployment of an Illumio VEN agent on IaaS.
  • Experience with integrating automated application deployments with Illumio preferred.
  • Confidently challenge and refine deployment approaches to ensure alignment with enterprise-scale cloud architecture principles, rather than relying on vendor-default or agent-centric models.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working with AppDev, Cloud Engineering, and Security teams to enforce controls without blocking delivery
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Proven technical leadership capability, including guiding teams in the development of robust solutions.
  • Outcome-focused, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Builds strong relationships by understanding and anticipating stakeholder needs, providing insightful and innovative solutions.
  • Works effectively and inclusively across teams, valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset, maintaining a positive approach, focusing on results, and actively seeking and learning from feedback.
