Join the Canadian Investments team at WTW as a Business Development Analyst and play a vital role supporting the growth and development of our Investment business. You will work alongside experienced investment professionals serving sophisticated institutional investors – including pension funds, endowments, and foundations across Canada – while building commercial, technical, and project management skills that will accelerate your career. 

This dynamic role exposes you to every stage of the new business pursuit process, from preparing Request for Proposal ("RFP") responses and finalist presentations to conducting competitive analysis, developing marketing materials, and managing the CRM pipeline, with opportunities to leverage AI tools to work smarter. The Role

  • CRM & pipeline management: Update and maintain the CRM system with business development activities, ensuring accurate client information and activity records.

  • Proposal & RFP management: Support the end-to-end RFP/RFI process, including drafting responses, coordinating team inputs, maintaining the proposal response library, and helping ensure timely, high-quality submissions.

  • Finalist & client presentations: Develop initial drafts of client presentation decks tailored to client needs and company standards; maintain and update the presentation slide library.

  • Excel analysis & reporting: Build and maintain Excel-based analyses to support prospect and client requests, including ad hoc calculations; ensure data accuracy and alignment with source data.

  • Research & competitive analysis: Support analysis, client / prospect research, and tracking of market and institutional investor developments to inform business development efforts.

  • Document & content management: Organize and maintain business development resources with a clean folder structure and effective document tracking; collect and validate necessary documents from clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Quality & governance: Review and validate reports and materials for accuracy and data integrity; support internal review and compliance processes.

  • Efficiency & innovation: Proactively identify process efficiencies and leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

Qualifications

The Requirements 

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, commerce, or a related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial services, investments, consulting, or business development

  • Progress towards CFA is desirable but not required

  • Interest in financial markets and institutional investing

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Excel and comfort working with datasets

  • Comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and proposal software is an asset but not required

 

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $65,000 CAD -$75,000 CAD per year.

This role is also eligible for overtime, an annual short-term incentive bonus, and performance-based recognition awards.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used in the process to screen, assess, or select applicants for a position but all final decisions and determinations are made exclusively by authorized human personnel.
