Description

We are seeking an experienced Account Director to join our dynamic team, where you’ll be responsible for a portfolio of strategically important clients. This is your chance to drive business growth, forge lasting relationships, and play a pivotal role in shaping our success in the Northeast of England.

You will lead complex placements, shape account and market strategies, and coordinate expertise across specialist teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

This role plays a critical part in strengthening market presence, driving sustainable growth, and reinforcing the firm’s position as a trusted partner to clients.

The Role

•    Manage and grow a portfolio of strategically important clients and prospects, with a focus on retention and new business development.
•    Develop and deepen client relationships by understanding their business, identifying decision makers, and providing tailored solutions to meet their risk management needs.
•    Drive business growth by targeting and converting new prospects while maximising opportunities within the existing portfolio.
•    Take ultimate responsibility for the provision and coordination of high-quality services to clients, ensuring consistent and reliable delivery.
•    Shape account and market strategies to reinforce the firm’s position as a trusted partner and strengthen market presence in the Northeast of England.
•    Determine and implement appropriate solutions, structure, pricing, and placement strategies to deliver profitable business for clients.
•    Leverage technical, industry, and subject matter expertise, drawing on specialist teams within the Business Unit and across the Group as required.
•    Lead (not line manage) the supporting service team to ensure client needs are met.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

•    Excellent insurance industry knowledge and experience
•    All-inclusive practical knowledge of account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim.
•    Experienced at new business sales process and track record of converting prospects to clients (preferable).
•    Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associate’s insurers, and external specialists.
•    Experience in managing clients with global programs.
•    Efficient communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
•    Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems to support client services.
•    Preferably education to degree level or equivalent.
•    Preferably with the addition of professional qualification of ACII or similar.
