Description
The Canada Portfolio Management Group is responsible for designing and constructing multi-asset portfolios for Canadian clients who have outsourced this to Willis Towers Watson. As an analyst in the Canada Portfolio Management Group, you will be supporting Portfolio Managers in portfolio construction, real time portfolio management and continuous oversight of these portfolios. You will have exposure to the end-to-end investment process and have an opportunity to contribute to positive outcomes of discretionary clients as you build knowledge of our processes and develop portfolio management and asset class knowledge.
You will have the opportunity to apply your existing experience and knowledge to a range of activities including:
- Analysis and support of portfolio construction decisions for portfolio invested across a range of global asset classes
- Support the development of proposals for portfolio construction, identifying and following up on areas requiring further analysis
- Support preparation of agendas and create materials for Canada Portfolio Management Group meetings including formal portfolio reviews
- Prepare written and analytic materials that present and support investment recommendations and actions
- Draft and maintain clear documentation of portfolio decisions, including support for an audit trail regarding client specific differences from model portfolios
- Analysis and management of cash flow needs and movements as well as trade simulations for consideration by portfolio managers
- Building effective working relationships on cross-functional teams in Canada across Operations, Strategy, Investment and Retirement and Business Development.
- Exercising project management skills as you collaborate with others to ensure projects are delivered efficiently
- Contribute to the growth of the delegated business supporting business development by modeling proposed portfolios under the supervision of portfolio managers
- Applying a critical focus on process proactively seeking enhancements to improve efficiency and consistency in the delivery of portfolio management

Qualifications
The Requirements
- An undergraduate degree
- An interest in financial markets (both Canadian and global), institutional investing, and multi-asset investment management
- Currently pursuing or with the potential to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst or other industry designation

Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $60,000 to $80,000 CAD per year.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
