Description
Join us at WTW as a Claims Resolution – Marine Cargo and play a key role in delivering outstanding claims outcomes for our clients.
Working across complex and sometimes contentious cargo, freight, logistics and global supply-chain losses, you’ll combine strong technical claims expertise with client advocacy and collaborative leadership. You’ll work closely with clients, insurers and market specialists, providing guidance to colleagues and helping ensure claims are managed effectively from notification through to resolution.
Based in Ipswich, the role supports clients across the UK, Europe and international markets, with regular travel to London and to client, insurer or loss-related meetings as required.
The Role
- Lead complex and contentious cargo claims, including freight, logistics and global supply-chain losses, advocating for clients and negotiating with insurers and relevant third parties to achieve effective outcomes.
- Act as a trusted adviser and principal claims contact for designated key clients, providing clear advice, updates and support throughout the claims lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to colleagues, helping prioritise activity, navigate complex issues and support consistent, high-quality claims delivery.
- Build strong relationships across the market, working with insurers, reinsurers, freight forwarders, carriers, loss adjusters, surveyors, legal advisers and other specialists to progress claims effectively.
- Oversee the quality and operational management of claims, including accurate records, reporting, financial administration and bureau debt, identifying issues and taking appropriate action to support timely resolution.
- Partner with broking, placement, account, operations and finance colleagues to strengthen client service, support retention and contribute to wider business objectives.
- Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement, including client claims reviews, loss-prevention initiatives and claims-related presentations, while maintaining appropriate WTW, conduct and regulatory standards.

- Extensive experience in Marine Cargo claims, with knowledge of freight, logistics and global supply chains.

- The ability to provide technical guidance and support to others, helping colleagues prioritise work, address complex issues and develop their claims capability.
- All-Inclusive client and stakeholder relationship skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with clients, insurers, brokers, technical experts and professional advisers.
- Knowledge of the London insurance market and broking environment, alongside an understanding of relevant legal, conduct, compliance and regulatory considerations.
