About the team
Our Health and Benefits business helps large and mid-size clients control health and welfare plan costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions. We provide solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management, pricing and funding strategies, data analytics, valuation support, legal compliance and governance strategies. We also provide specialty consulting services including clinical/health management program design, pharmacy solutions, disability/absence management strategies and claims audit services. Product-based solutions such as our pharmacy purchasing coalition round out our broad-based suite of offerings.
Summary
WTW is seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. We are looking for the very best talent, and if you are passionate about what you do and welcome new challenges, we want to meet you.
As a full-time member of our DevSecOps team, you will be responsible for automating build, infrastructure, and software configuration management related tasks. You will also be responsible for building out our continuous integration platform across several software products.
This role will work closely with both Software Development and IT Operations groups to ensure that teams are empowered, software is deployed quickly, and deployments are up to organizational standards. This position reports to the H&B Global DevOps Leader.
Role
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality in-house software build systems for Enterprise-class platforms.
- Build and maintain automated pipelines for CI/CD using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, etc.
- Develop infrastructure as code using tools like Bicep or similar.
- Develop and enforce standards and best practices for infrastructure, deployment, and security automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Support Windows-based platforms and .NET applications.
- IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service):
- Performance assessments and monitoring.
- Debugging and troubleshooting infrastructure issues and event logs.
- IIS configuration, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Software installation, backup, and restoration procedures.
- SQL Server:
- Query tuning and general database administration.
- Set up and manage backups and maintenance jobs.
- Perform encryption/decryption tasks and ensure secure data handling.
- Conduct performance assessments and provide development support.
- Monitoring & Collaboration:
- Cloud monitoring and metrics analysis.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
Requirements
- 9-12 years of experience as a DevOps/SCM engineer, or in a position with similar skill sets and responsibilities.
- Experience building .NET applications using build tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub.
- Experience deploying applications in a CD fashion (Azure DevOps GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Experience using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Desire to learn (technologies, processes, efficiencies).
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep or similar
- Strong knowledge of n-tier web applications.
- Knowledge of Desired State Configuration technologies such as DSC, Puppet, Chef, SCCM/SMS
- Capability to support a software development team’s timelines and targets.
- Capability and desire to be a strong team player.
- Courage to challenge the status-quo when you spot an opportunity.
- Experience establishing standards and procedures and advocating best practices.
- Familiarity with change management systems and processes
- Familiarity with principles of continuous integration and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong knowledge of Continuous Delivery Concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
