Description

As a Director in our Executive Compensation and Board Advisory practice, you will collaborate with some of the industry’s top consultants while you develop deep and cutting-edge technical knowledge and skills. You will manage consulting projects while providing input to senior colleagues and overseeing and quality-reviewing junior staff’s work. You may also serve as project lead on projects of smaller scope.

The scope of our projects will range from those focused solely on executive compensation and board and committee effectiveness, (e.g., rewards strategy, competitive compensation analyses, annual and long-term incentive program design, pay-for-performance analyses, shareholder engagement strategy and preparation) to those involving other lines of business such as M&A due diligence and integration, total rewards strategy design and optimization assessments.  Client engagements will typically be with the relevant committee(s) of the Board, senior management, or both.

You will also participate in and contribute to activities that support continued revenue growth of the Work & Rewards line of business and WTW overall. These activities may include supporting local, regional and/or national marketing events, performing industry/topical research and developing intellectual capital, and participating in our firm’s industry and/or topical teams.

Note: Employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship and/or assistance is not offered for this specific job opportunity.

The Role

While every day and assignments are somewhat different, some of your main responsibilities will include:

Delivering effective, consistent project management for multiple, marquee clients.

  • Drafting statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams.
  • Serving as the day-to-day project lead, ensuring progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards.
  • Leveraging to and managing the work of junior staff, providing coaching and on-going feedback.
  • Operating as the key contact to clients on delivery of services; managing client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the development, design and implementation of compensation programs that include total rewards strategy, competitive benchmarking, annual and long-term incentive plan design, employment contract review, change-in-control agreements, overall competitive pay analysis and pay-for-performance alignment.
  • Contributing to the development of new tools and approaches.
  • Supporting the generation of new business as part of the broader team by:
  • Assisting with new business development activities.
  • Participating in discovery discussions with prospects and developing / delivering proposals.
  • Establishing collaborative relationships with clients to understand their business and issues to better inform our consulting and to expand WTW’s relationship into new service areas.
  • Contributing to the external visibility of WTW’s brand through intellectual capital generation, drafting articles, and attending and speaking at relevant conferences.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of design-orientated executive compensation experience in consulting or highly consultative corporate environments, and a genuine interest in this field.
  • Experience designing annual, equity, stock and other long- and short-term incentive programs.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory, legal, tax and accounting requirements.
  • Creative, analytical and results-driven orientation, demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes, and trends from data analysis and communicate results effectively.
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple, multi-faceted projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • An executive presence with polished and well-developed communication skills, including experience making presentations and “sell” ideas to colleagues and management.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills and clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
