The Role
As a Director – Health & Benefits, Large Corporate, you will provide strategic healthcare consulting advice to a portfolio of predominantly large corporate clients, advising on both community- and experience-rated private medical insurance schemes, alongside a broad range of health and wellbeing benefits.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them design, implement and optimise their health and wellbeing strategies while delivering commercially focused solutions that align with their business objectives.
Clients
• Lead strategic consulting engagements for large corporate clients across the design, implementation and ongoing management of complex health-related benefit programmes.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor on health, risk and wellbeing initiatives.
• Provide expert technical guidance on market developments, benefit design, insurer strategies and funding approaches.
• Partner effectively with insurers, vendors and internal specialists to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Lead or play a key role within client account teams, ensuring exceptional quality, commercial outcomes and delivery against agreed timelines.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support business development initiatives.
Financial
• Meet chargeable hours and revenue objectives.
• Contribute to the growth of the business through account development, cross-selling opportunities and winning new client relationships.
• Demonstrate strong commercial awareness in managing client portfolios and delivering profitable consulting engagements.
People
• Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with colleagues across Health & Benefits and the wider business.
• Coach and share technical expertise with junior team members where appropriate.
• Demonstrate confidence and credibility when engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels, including senior leadership.
Excellence
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance client delivery, processes and operational efficiency.
• Analyse complex healthcare and claims data to identify trends, generate meaningful insights and develop strategic recommendations.
• Lead benchmarking studies, market reviews and insurer evaluations to support client decision-making.
• Produce high-quality client reports, presentations and strategic recommendations.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, regulatory changes and emerging health and wellbeing trends.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
• Strong technical expertise across corporate health-related benefit programmes, including Private Medical Insurance (PMI), Dental, Health Cash Plans, Travel, Personal Accident, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and broader health and wellbeing solutions.
• Demonstrable experience advising large corporate clients, with the technical depth and consulting capability to manage complex benefit programmes and provide strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the wider employee health, risk and wellbeing landscape, ideally gained within a leading employee benefits consultancy, brokerage or insurer.
• Proven ability to advise clients on benefit design, funding methodologies, insurer markets, governance, renewals and long-term health benefit strategies.
• A highly consultative approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively, influence decision-making and build trusted client relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and contribute to new business development.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into practical, commercially focused recommendations.
• Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior client stakeholders.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• A proactive and accountable approach, demonstrating ownership, sound judgement and resilience when managing competing client demands.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues would be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
