Equity Manager Research Analyst

We have an opportunity for an Equity Manager Research Analyst to join WTW's global Listed Equity team, to be based in Lisbon. You will help research equity investment managers and strategies, contribute to portfolio and client work, and develop alongside experienced colleagues across WTW's international investment research network.

The role will form part of WTW's growing investment presence in Lisbon and offers a strong entry point for someone with analytical ability, intellectual curiosity and an interest in financial markets. Prior relevant experience is not required, although exposure to investment research, asset management or financial analysis would be beneficial.

You will support the research and assessment of listed equity investment strategies globally. The work combines desk-based analysis, meetings with investment teams, quantitative analysis and clear written communication, with opportunities to contribute to investment solutions and client outcomes.

• Source and analyse equity investment managers and strategies across global markets.

• Support desk-based research into investment teams, philosophies, processes, portfolios, performance, risk and responsible-investment practices.

• Prepare for and participate in meetings with investment managers, record evidence and help identify follow-up questions.

• Use quantitative analysis to evaluate funds and portfolios, working with colleagues and central data resources to improve research methods.

• Support portfolio construction, risk analysis and the application of manager research within client portfolios and investment solutions.

• Contribute to client work, including timely investment commentary, market narratives and thematic content relevant to UK and European wealth and institutional clients.

• Collaborate with colleagues across WTW's global Listed Equity and Manager Research teams and contribute to shared intellectual capital.

• Build knowledge of sustainability, inclusion and diversity, technology, machine learning and alternative data as these topics affect equity investment strategies.

The Requirements

• An undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification, in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, business or another relevant discipline.

• A genuine interest in investing, financial markets and how investment managers make decisions.

• Analytical and quantitative ability, with confidence working with financial and numerical information.

• Ability to gather and assess information critically and form a clear, fact-based view.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.

• Intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and willingness to learn from colleagues and feedback.

• A collaborative approach and commitment to working in an inclusive, international team environment.
