Willis Norway is seeking an Insurance Claims Manager to join our Risk & Broking team. We welcome applicants across seniority levels, and the role will be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience. The scope and seniority of the position will be defined by the candidate’s capabilities. For more senior hires, team leadership responsibilities may be included. It is a requirement that the role is experienced in global claims handling for companies out of the Nordics.

Role Overview

As Senior Claims & Insurance Law Advisor, you will be a central resource in our Large & Complex client teams and contribute to claims work for P&C Mid-Market clients. You’ll work closely with Client Executives and LRM teams to manage claims, support sales efforts, and help grow WTW Norway’s portfolio. A key part of the role involves applying insurance law principles to ensure compliant, effective claims handling and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead claims strategy and execution for high-value and complex insurance cases
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation, insurer obligations, and dispute resolution
  • Promote claims services and FACC offerings in client meetings
  • Contribute to internal claims forums and process improvements
  • Foster collaboration across teams and offices
  • Help shape value propositions aligned with WTW’s strategic goals
  • Apply project management principles to prioritize and manage workload

Claims Handling Experience

  • Ensure claims handling aligns with Norwegian insurance law and industry practices 
  • Liaise with legal teams to support client advocacy and insurer negotiations
  • Advise clients on claims strategy and coverage decisions
  • Work with Loss Adjusters where appropriate
  • Legal background is a strong advantage

Sales & Client Development

  • Drive legal-focused claims offerings in RFP submissions
  • Develop industry-specific strategies to attract new clients
  • Ensure client satisfaction through legally sound claims outcomes

 

Ongoing Service

  • Deliver excellent client experiences and outcomes
  • Support the team in claims management
  • Structure claims processes and documentation (manuals, workflows, etc.)

 

For senior hires we are also considering  Team Leadership 

  • Stabilize and grow the team with a 3-year development plan
  • Cultivate a “One-Willis” culture and cross-team collaboration
  • Mentor junior claims professionals and support career development

 

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the industry
  • Broad network in the industry 
  • Relevant Formal education, e.g. post-secondary education or university education.
  • Theoretical knowledge that can be reported through certificates or equivalent.
  • Ability to articulate strategy to clients
  • Successful practical experience in a similar role at least 3 years.
