Description

The Data Office for WTW Investments is a central team that is responsible for sourcing, creation and maintenance of datasets which is fit-for-purpose, timely and accurate; with the objective to deliver on business outcomes such as trading, analytics, reporting and performance measurement. The team maintains the golden source of multiple datasets such as Instruments, Pricing, Counterparty, Client etc. and ensures the integrity of the data using data quality and standards frameworks. 

The role requires the candidate to help support the business in delivering on specific projects and continuing to support BAU activities for the various datasets. The candidate will quickly build a sound understanding of our business structure and the information within it, while working with a diverse mix of investment professionals of different backgrounds and experience levels.

The Role

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the Mexico Data Team, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of BAU data management processes and support activities. 
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for IBOR, security master, pricing, counterparty, client and other investment datasets, providing guidance and expertise to the wider team. 
  • Oversee workload prioritisation, issue resolution and operational delivery, ensuring team objectives and service levels are consistently achieved. 
  • Support the development and mentoring of team members by promoting best practices, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. 
  • Provide leadership on complex data investigations, reconciliations, quality issues and remediation activities. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders, data owners and technology teams to address data-related requirements and drive successful business outcomes. 
  • Lead data migration, onboarding and transformation activities impacting the Mexico business, ensuring alignment with established data standards and controls. 
  • Maintain oversight of key data standards, documentation and data dictionaries to support the effective management of investment data. 
  • Act as the Mexico representative within the wider Investments Data Office, ensuring local priorities are aligned with global data initiatives and operating standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • 5-8+ years' experience within Asset Management, Investment Management, Wealth Management, or a related investment environment. 
  • Strong understanding of investment data, including portfolios, securities, pricing, counterparties, clients and IBOR datasets. 
  • Experience leading or coordinating a team, managing day-to-day delivery, prioritization and operational oversight. 
  • Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on investment data, business processes and data-related issues. 
  • Good understanding of capital markets, asset classes and investment operations. 
  • Experience supporting business change, data migration or process improvement initiatives. 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with business, operations and technology stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Working knowledge of data quality and data management principles. 
  • Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Power BI or Python. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
