In Manila, you will join our delivery team there and work as one team with colleagues in Lisbon and across our markets.
About the role
We are looking for a Junior AI Engineer to help design, build and implement AI-powered solutions that address real business needs.
Working alongside experienced AI Engineers and the Tech Lead, you will contribute to solutions from early experimentation and prototyping through testing and production. You will also take part in conversations with business users to understand what they need.
This is a hands-on role with a strong learning component. Whether you come from software engineering, data or low-code automation and are now building with AI, you will gain practical experience in Generative AI, cloud technologies and enterprise delivery.
What you will do
Help build, test, maintain and document AI-enabled applications, agents, skills, workflows and reusable components;
Develop prototypes and proofs of concept using Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, APIs and automation technologies;
Write and maintain code (mainly Python) and build low-code automations (e.g. Power Automate, Copilot Studio) with support from experienced colleagues;
Support the integration of AI solutions with APIs, applications, databases and data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric;
Test and evaluate AI solutions for quality, reliability and performance;
Troubleshoot technical issues, document findings and help resolve them;
Help move successful prototypes from experimentation into production;
Follow established architecture, development, testing, security and Responsible AI standards;
Join requirements discussions with business users and Business Analysts, asking questions to understand the real need;
Take part in solution design sessions, sprint planning, code reviews and retrospectives;
Contribute to technical documentation, prompt libraries, evaluation assets and knowledge sharing;
Keep developing your knowledge of Generative AI, software engineering, cloud and enterprise delivery.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience;
Experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Python; JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or C# is a plus;
Foundational understanding of software engineering, MCP and databases;
Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs and prompt engineering;
Familiarity with tools such as Git and REST APIs;
Has built something with an LLM or AI tool, including personal projects;
Awareness of Responsible AI, including data privacy, model limitations and human oversight;
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver against agreed priorities and timelines;
Good communication skills and the confidence to discuss requirements with business users across distributed teams;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
