Role – New Business Producer

The New Business Producer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new client relationships for Willis FINEX UK Financial Institutions team. The role focuses on generating profitable growth across the Financial Lines portfolio, including Directors & Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Crime, Employment Practices Liability and Management Liability. The successful candidate will leverage their network, market knowledge, and consultative approach to build strong relationships with corporate clients, financial institutions, professional firms, private equity businesses, asset managers, and associated advisers. Working closely with FINEX colleagues, broking teams, and insurer partners, the Producer will develop tailored risk solutions and successfully convert opportunities into long-term client relationships.

 

The Role 

Business Development & Sales 

  • Generate and convert new business opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic introducers, industry contacts and targeted prospecting. 

  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve agreed revenue, growth and activity targets. 

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects across target sectors. 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers including CEOs, CFOs, General Counsel, Risk Managers, Asset Managers, Private Equity firms and Professional Services organisations. 

  • Attend and represent Willis at industry events, conferences and networking functions to promote the FINEX proposition. 

  • Lead prospect meetings, presentations and proposal discussions to secure new client appointments. 

Client Advisory 

  • Understand clients' business operations, risk profiles and strategic objectives to identify insurance and risk management opportunities. 

  • Provide expert advice on Financial Lines products and market solutions. 

  • Clearly present coverage options, programme structures, insurer appetite and market developments. 

  • Act as a trusted adviser to prospective clients throughout the sales process. 

  • Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships through cross-selling and additional consultancy services. 

Market Engagement & Placement Strategy 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurers and underwriting partners across the London and Company Markets. 

  • Work with FINEX broking teams to design competitive insurance programmes and placement strategies. 

  • Support negotiations with insurers to secure optimal coverage, terms and pricing. 

  • Maintain awareness of emerging risks, market trends, regulatory developments and insurer appetite. 

  • Share market intelligence and business opportunities across the wider FINEX team. 

Client Transition & Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Account Executives and servicing teams to ensure a seamless handover and implementation of newly won business. 

  • Support the development of client service plans and ongoing account strategies where required. 

  • Collaborate with internal specialists to deliver integrated solutions for clients. 

  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and client records within WTW systems. 

Compliance & Governance 

  • Operate in accordance with FCA requirements, Willis policies and internal governance standards. 

  • Ensure all client and insurer interactions are conducted with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. 

  • Maintain required regulatory permissions, training and professional qualifications. 

  • Support management in identifying and mitigating business unit risks. 


 

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

Essential 

  • Proven success in generating and winning new business within the financial lines  market. 

  • Strong Financial Lines expertise, including Directors & Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Crime and Cyber. 

  • Demonstrable ability to build relationships with senior client stakeholders and professional introducers. 

  • Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills. 

  • Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities. 

  • Commercially focused with a strong drive to achieve sales and revenue targets. 

  • Experience working within FCA-regulated environments and adhering to governance requirements. 

  • Good understanding of London Market and global insurance market dynamics. 

Desirable 

  • Experience working with Financial Institutions, Asset Managers, Private Equity firms or Professional Services businesses. 

  • Existing network of client and market relationships relevant to the FINEX sector. 

  • ACII qualified or working towards qualification. 

  • Familiarity with WTW products, services and operating systems.
