Description
The Role
As a Business Analyst, you will help support Pension Outsourcing client delivery by translating business needs into system requirements, configuration, data conversion, testing, and production support activities. You will work closely with clients, other Business Analysts, developers, and pension administration teams to deliver accurate, high-quality technical solutions within defined scope, timing, and budget expectations. This role will focus on system configuration, data imports and conversions, ongoing imports, retiree payroll system functionality, batch jobs, reports, extracts, and related exports.
Clients
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships by understanding client needs, expectations, and how the system supports their processes.
- Inform clients and project teams on system functionality, available options, and related impacts.
- Understand the statement of work and system scope, identify potential out-of-scope work, and bring those instances to the project team’s attention.
- Assist with identifying work and hours needed to support change order drafting.
Domain Knowledge and Delivery
- Demonstrate understanding of the core application, including functionality, available options, underlying database structure, data model, and process flows.
- Define complex system configuration, table updates, reporting requirements, data transformation logic, and related technical documentation.
- Support data conversion, ongoing imports, batch jobs, retiree payroll system functionality, reports, extracts, and other exports.
- Create, review, and execute comprehensive component test plans across web applications, data imports, batch jobs, reports, extracts, and related system components.
- Perform impact analysis and regression testing during release consumptions and other system changes.
Problem Solving and Requirements
- Create and evaluate database queries and procedures based on an understanding of the data model, relational database structures, and system relationships.
- Use SQL and related tools to support analysis, validation, issue resolution, and testing of data conversion, imports, extracts, reports, and system functionality.
- Coordinate issues identified during testing with developers, Business Analysts, and project teams, and help drive each issue through resolution.
- Assist senior Business Analysts in analyzing requests and providing guidance to resolve medium to high complexity configuration, testing, and data-related issues.
- Ensure development requests include specification updates, technical documentation, expected results, and unit test cases.

Qualifications
The Requirements
- Experience in benefits and/or outsourcing engagements in a Pension Outsourcing system development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related area, with 5 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Configuration Analyst, Test Analyst, or similar technical delivery role preferred.
- Experience working in relational databases, SQL, web-based applications, and related system tools required, including the ability to create, evaluate, and troubleshoot complex SQL statements or stored procedures involving complex relationships.
- Experience with data conversion, ETL mapping, translation, advanced data transformation and normalization techniques, and consolidation of data from multiple sources into trusted upload formats.
- Demonstrated understanding of primary key and unique identifier management, collision detection and avoidance, record deduplication, data integrity validation, relational databases, data modeling concepts, data mining, and associated tools and techniques preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with, and commitment to, leveraging AI tools to enhance software delivery quality and efficiency.
- Firm understanding of system development lifecycles and the role of requirements, configuration, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
- Experience creating and executing comprehensive test plans, including component testing, regression testing, stress testing, edge/threshold/negative test scenarios, and defect validation.
- Ability to define complex system configuration, table updates, reporting requirements, technical documentation, and expected results.
- Ability to understand system scope, identify potential out-of-scope work, and clearly communicate impacts to project teams, colleagues, and clients.
- Strong analytical, technical, integrative, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and judgment in choosing the appropriate communication medium.
- Ability to work on virtual teams with colleagues from different geographic areas, contribute to team process improvements, tools, and methodologies, and provide guidance, coaching, and technical assistance on best practices and client-specific or system-specific knowledge.
- Ability to multi-task, remain focused on assigned work, meet deadlines, and support extended hours or travel as needed.
Compensation And Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $75,000 to $110,000 USD annually.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
