As a Pharmacy Solutions Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to US-based Health and Benefits Pharmacy Consultants. In this role, you will collect and analyze information that informs strategic business decisions. You will be expected to produce several clients facing deliverables efficiently and accurately.

Your individual role will include a wide variety of complex projects involving design, financing and ongoing management of pharmacy benefit programs.

You will interact regularly with other members of our United States Health and Benefits Consulting practice via email and phone. You will continually learn about North America health and benefits concepts and principles and apply these skills in a global environment. You will materially contribute to a client’s benefits strategy through managing the carrier bid, procurement, and negotiation process. You will have the ability to significantly grow your benefits acumen, and financial, client and project management skills by working on cutting edge projects alongside leaders in the industry.

The Role

You will collaborate with U.S. and Global Delivery Center (GDC) Specialists within Rx Community. To support the delivery of that strategy, you will: 

  • Perform financial analyses including cost savings and data analysis projections, review and update of pricing and other analytical models.
  • Develop client analyses and other related documents for WTW clients and prospects including presentations and review of pharmacy contracts.
  • Prepare presentations, review pharmacy contracts, and analyze vendor products and pricing. 
  • Design and manage PBM RFP processes, including evaluation of responses. 
  • Coordinate with onshore teams on requests, timelines, and follow-ups; manage conflicting priorities. 
  • Prepare deliverables within tight deadlines and participate in project status calls and meetings. 
  • Attend training and educational events to stay updated on market trends, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Conduct internal peer reviews and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR). 
  • Develop awareness of PBM marketplace and articulate vendor strengths and weaknesses. 
  • Analyze pharmacy claims data using advanced analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) and scripting languages (Python/R). 
  • Provide strategic recommendations on cost containment, vendor innovation, and AI-driven PBM tools. 
  • Monitor global healthcare trends and benchmark against international best practices. 
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Advise clients on emerging digital health technologies, e-prescriptions, and blockchain applications in pharmacy benefits.

Qualifications

The Requirements

Required Skills and knowledge: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a program on mathematics or business)  
  • 2+ years’ experience working with health and benefits plans (their financials) preferably gained in a benefit consulting / brokerage firm or at a health insurance company
  • Proficient in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Preferably with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: 
    • US Healthcare
    • US Pharmacy (background in PBM is preferred)
  • Project management experience  
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet internal/external deadlines
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve complex issues 
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner 
  • Continuous improvement mindset – increasing task efficiency and effectiveness with each product or service repetition

Technical Skills and Experience 

  • Strong analytical and integrative skills. Critical thinking/problem solving skills as it relates to data analysis
  • Being able to interpret data sets
  • Interpret financial modeling results for reasonability
  • Strong financial skills: prior experience in pharmacy pricing, underwriting or valuation work preferred 
  • Experience with data entry, validation, and manipulation 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
    • For Excel, specifically be able to: 
      • Run pivot tables/v-lookups on data sets
      • Learn new formulas in excel to improve data analysis 
      • Learn how the financial model functions, including formulas and flow from tab to tab
      • Run calculations on data sets (i.e., totals, percentages, percent change)
  • Ability to conduct meetings and communicate well with onshore partners.
  • Experience in conducting contract reviews
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in healthcare analytics.
  • Experience with automation tools and process optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication, virtual collaboration, and change management skills.
  • Prior experience working with US-based pharmacy benefit programs (preferred)
