Property Underwriter
A motivated and proactive property underwriter with commercial awareness and attention to detail that is focused on winning and retaining business in line with company objectives. Negotiation skills and an ability to build durable Broker/Insurer relationships and meeting their needs in a timely manner. A real team player with a willingness to learn and grow within the team and actively support and embrace new ideas and initiatives to deliver positive outcomes.
The Role
- Take proactive ownership of assigned renewals and apply astute commercial awareness within underwriting authority.
- Understanding of policy coverage, terms, conditions and risk management practices.
- Liaising with the Property Portfolio Manager and Underwriters on a day-to-day basis on all Propsure scheme related issues.
- Build on existing team strengths and contribute and support new ideas that lead to better outcomes.
- Regular contact, negotiations, and relationship building with broker panel and insurer carriers, support and attend meetings and events as required.
- Issue Propsure policy documents, schedules and endorsements in a timely and accurate manner and work consistently to achieve team Service Level Agreements
- Provide excellent service by responding promptly and professionally to mail correspondence and effectively handle queries from brokers via phone calls and/or teams meetings.
- Ensure all messages are maticulously recorded and communicated in a clear and timely manner in line with company policy.
- Assuming responsibility for project assignments as directed.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory and risk management requirements.
- Support any training opportunities and embrace the rollout of new technologies.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
CIP qualified or working towards.
Relevant years Property or Commercial Property experience is essential
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suites in particular - Excel
Be proactive, flexible and demonstrate a keen willingness to assist fellow colleagues.
Must also demonstrate good interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and thrive in an environment that is always changing
