Role Overview

The Retiree Exchange Solution Leader is responsible for the overall performance, strategy, and delivery of WTW’s market leading Via Benefits Retiree Exchange solution. This leader drives growth, profitability, service delivery, and innovation for this solution within the Individual Marketplace business while ensuring strong partnerships with clients, carriers, technology teams, and internal stakeholders. The role requires a strategic operator who can balance long-term vision with disciplined execution, leading a cross functional team and collaborating with the Individual Marketplace leadership team to deliver exceptional results. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Business Ownership & Performance

  • Own the financial performance of the Retiree Exchange solution, including revenue growth, profitability, and expansion into new product lines and revenue streams working in close partnership with the technology, operations, client management, and sales leadership of the Individual Marketplace business on execution.
  • Manage the retiree book of business to optimize service levels, retention, value, and long-term sustainability.
  • Identify and launch new revenue opportunities such as carrier services, BPO offerings, and new product innovations.

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor day-to-day operations, to ensure seamless service delivery aligned with business objectives, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement of unit economics and operational KPIs, enhancing quality, efficiency, and scalability through close partnership with the Heads of Operations and Technology for Individual Marketplace.
  • Resolve operational issues, compliance concerns, and execution barriers to maintain a high performing, well controlled environment.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute the strategy for the solution in alignment with the broader Individual Marketplace business and overall WTW enterprise vision and transformation agenda.
  • Monitor and analyze business performance using data and analytics to guide decisions and adjust strategy and execution tactics proactively.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and financial discipline across the solution.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a cross functional team overseeing talent development and performance management for that team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Carrier, Client & Partner Engagement

  • Lead the development of strategy and execution for our Medicare and Ancillary carrier partner relationships.      Engaging directly with carrier partners, including managing executive level relationships with key national carriers in partnership with other senior stakeholders at WTW.     
  • Represent the solution internally and externally, with a focus on continuously strengthening relationships with clients, prospects, and strategic partners.
  • Partner closely with our client management and sales leadership team to build pipeline, expand membership, increase client satisfaction, and support new business pursuits.  Often getting directly involved in sales and escalated client situations.

Product & Technology Collaboration

  • Lead the development and execution of the retiree exchange product strategy in close partnership with technology and operations leadership, collaborating on product features, platform enhancements, insource/outsource decisions, and delivery of a robust product roadmap.
  • Support the development of a re‑imagined member website and other digital capabilities that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. 

Cost & Efficiency Management

  • Partner with operations to manage costs, improve unit economics, and ensure sustainable financial performance.
  • Identify and champion service improvement initiatives that elevate customer experience and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or a related field.     
  • Significant technical depth and industry connections within the individual Medicare market space.
  • Proven track record of owning and driving business growth performance.
  • Strong understanding of the operational requirements for a large brokerage with experience working in a complex environment through cross functional teams.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced ever evolving environment.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

 

Compensation

 

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $200,000-$250,000 USD per year.

 

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
