Large & Complex Primary Casualty Placement – North America
The Senior Broker serves as a senior member of the Large & Complex Primary Casualty Placement North America team and is responsible for the strategic placement of complex primary casualty programs for large national and multinational clients. This role partners closely with Client Advocates, producers, underwriting partners, and specialty resources to design and deliver innovative casualty solutions that optimize coverage, pricing, and program structure.
As a senior member of the Large & Complex Primary Casualty Placement North America team, this individual will help shape casualty placement strategy for some of the organization's largest and most complex clients. Working closely with Client Advocates, producers, industry leaders, and carrier partners, the Senior Broker will leverage deep marketplace expertise, analytics-driven insights, and innovative program design strategies to deliver superior client outcomes while optimizing total cost of risk. The role requires strong leadership, sophisticated negotiation skills, and the ability to influence market strategy across a broad portfolio of complex casualty placements.

The Role
Lead the placement and renewal of large and complex primary casualty insurance programs across multiple industries.
Develop and execute comprehensive placement strategies designed to optimize coverage, program structure, pricing, and carrier participation.
Negotiate coverage terms, conditions, pricing, and program enhancements with insurance carriers and underwriting partners.
Serve as a casualty subject matter expert and trusted advisor to Client Advocates, producers, and clients.
Collaborate with analytics, actuarial, claims, loss control, and specialty teams to develop risk financing and placement solutions.
Analyze client exposures, loss information, benchmarking data, and market conditions to support strategic recommendations.
Design, review, and oversee the preparation of marketing submissions, coverage comparisons, proposals, and market presentations.
Evaluate carrier quotes and coverage offerings and develop recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior underwriting leaders and carrier decision-makers across the casualty marketplace.
Support new business development initiatives, RFP responses, finalist presentations, and producer-led growth efforts.
Educate internal colleagues and clients on emerging casualty risks, market trends, coverage developments, and placement strategies.
Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to developing brokers and junior team members.
Contribute to thought leadership, market intelligence, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Large & Complex Casualty practice.
Partner with national placement leadership and industry leaders to drive consistency, innovation, and best practices across the casualty platform.As a senior leader within the Large & Complex Primary Casualty Placement North America team, help shape market strategy, carrier engagement, placement best practices, and innov

Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, licensing obligations, and internal placement workflows.
Qualifications
The Requirements
Property & Casualty insurance license required (or ability to obtain where required).
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
10–15+ years of commercial insurance broking, underwriting, or casualty placement experience.
Demonstrated experience placing large and complex casualty programs, including primary casualty, large deductible, self-insured retention, and loss-sensitive structures.
Deep knowledge of casualty coverages, program design, and insurance marketplace dynamics.
Strong understanding of industry sectors and complex casualty exposures.
Proven ability to negotiate complex coverage and pricing arrangements with senior underwriting partners.
Recognized casualty marketplace expert with established relationships among senior underwriting and carrier leadership teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate exposure, claims, and financial information.
Experience utilizing data and analytics to support placement, risk financing, and client recommendations.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus across diverse internal and external groups.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and talent development capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business applications.
Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, CRM, or equivalent are preferred.
Preferred Experience
Large account casualty placement experience within a national brokerage or carrier environment.
Experience supporting Fortune 1000 or similarly complex organizations.
Familiarity with alternative risk transfer solutions, captives, and structured casualty programs.
Existing relationships with major casualty insurers and marketplace leaders.
Experience leading RFP responses, finalist presentations, and new business pursuits.
