Description
WTW is expanding its Facultative Reinsurance operations in Europe and is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Facultative Reinsurance Broker to join our growing team. This role is a key part of our reinsurance strategy and offers the opportunity to lead facultative placements, drive business development, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class solutions.
You will be responsible for assessing complex risks, structuring facultative reinsurance solutions, and negotiating favorable terms with reinsurers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and global organization, with significant exposure to local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and assess risk transfer needs to design tailored facultative reinsurance solutions for WTW clients and cedants.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of facultative reinsurance business, including both 1st and 3rd party placements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with cedants, reinsurers, and other key stakeholders in the Italian insurance market.
- Promote the use of facultative reinsurance across WTW business lines as part of a comprehensive market strategy.
- Negotiate reinsurance terms and conditions to ensure optimal coverage and pricing.
- Coordinate and prepare detailed placement submissions based on client requirements.
- Oversee administrative aspects of facultative placements, including documentation and compliance.
- Provide support on claims-related matters involving facultative reinsurance.
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends to inform broking strategy.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Proven experience in facultative reinsurance, ideally in a broker or underwriting capacity.
- Deep understanding of reinsurance and insurance principles, including risk evaluation and pricing.
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen with the ability to handle complex client needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. A good knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and reinsurance administration systems is a plus.
