Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Finance Manager / Dirigeant agréé to join our Luxembourg-based captive management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to growth in an international risk and insurance environment as part of WTW.

The Role

  • Lead the Accounting Department, consisting of 3 local accountants and 2 junior support accountants, and manage a growing portfolio of reinsurance captive companies;
  • Act as a licensed Dirigeant agréé (licensed manager) for reinsurance companies, ensuring compliance with the Luxembourg Commissariat aux Assurances’ regulations, Solvency II legislation/guidelines, and the Luxembourg Companies Act;
  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of all regulatory reporting, tax returns, and other statutory submissions, as well as the review and/or preparation of management accounts, ad hoc reports, budgets, and forecasts in client-prescribed formats;
  • Prepare client companies´year-end financial statements, liaise with external auditors, and present financial reports to the Board of Directors;
  • Maintain professional relationships with third parties such as (re)insurers, auditors, banks, and tax advisors.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Possess the relevant insurance experience and background to be eligible to a ´Derigeant agréé licence by the Commissariat aux Assurances;
  • Hold a diploma in accounting and/or finance (BA, Master, Business School) or a professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, etc.);
  • At least 5 to 10 years of relevant insurance accounting experience, in a captive management, (re)insurance or consulting company, preferably in Luxembourg, with an excellent knowledge of Lux GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and the Solvency II regime;
  • Able to manage a reinsurance company from  A to Z on a day-to-day basis;
  • Strong proficiency in standard MS tools and accounting software;
  • Fluency in French (speaking and writing), and English language to a good professional level;
  • You are organised, a team player, able to work to tight deadlines and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
