Description
As part of our GB Retail team, Private Clients provides confidential, high-quality personal insurance solutions to mid-net-worth and high-net-worth individuals, including corporate decision-makers and public figures. We are looking for a Strategic Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and generate high-quality Private Client leads for the sales team. This is a sales-focused role requiring a proactive, commercially minded individual with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Strategy, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across the Private Client proposition.
- Drive new business sales, lead generation and revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities through personal networks, existing clients, corporate relationships, professional introducers and wider Group business units.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to generate referrals and new business.
- Use client data, market insight and commercial intelligence to identify and develop prospects.
- Own and manage the lead pipeline from identification and qualification through to handover to the sales team.
- Work collaboratively with the Private Client team to progress opportunities and maximise cross-sell and up-sell potential.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Private Client proposition and market trends.
- Deliver agreed sales targets while maintaining high standards of client service, confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in sales, business development or strategic relationship management, ideally within Private Client insurance.
- A strong track record of generating new business leads and delivering commercial results.
- Excellent networking, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to identifying and converting opportunities.
- Ability to leverage personal networks, internal data and wider business relationships to generate leads.
- Strong commercial awareness, organisation and pipeline management skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate clients and professional introducers.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work across a large organisation.
- Private Client insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of FCA operating principles and Treating Customers Fairly.
- High levels of discretion, accuracy and confidentiality.
