Join WTW as a Workplace Risk Account Director and lead a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering strategic workers’ compensation and return-to-work solutions that protect people and improve business performance. You’ll combine technical expertise, commercial insight and data-driven thinking to strengthen client outcomes, grow accounts and coach Account Executives. Role Purpose: Manage and grow a defined portfolio of Workplace Risk clients. Ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery, provide technical expertise, and coach Account Executives.

 

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee delivery of all WC/ORTW services across assigned clients. 
  • Maintain service cadence: review meetings, quarterly reporting, operational check‑ins. 
  • Manage escalations and ensure service issues are resolved.

 

Technical Leadership

  • Provide multi‑jurisdictional WC guidance to AEs and clients. 
  • Quality‑assure claims, documentation and technical outputs. 
  • Identify systemic issues and implement portfolio‑level improvements.

 

Client Leadership

  • Act as primary client contact for operational and mid‑level strategic engagement.
  • Deliver proactive insights on claims trends, premium impact, and performance.

 

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Manage project revenue, allocations, forecasting and scope variations. 
  • Support tender responses, proposals and renewals. 
  • Mitigate fee leakage and ensure project profitability.

 

Team Coaching

  • Manage project revenue, allocations, forecasting and scope variations. 
  • Support tender responses, proposals and renewals.

Qualifications

Technical Competencies

Workers Compensation Technical Expertise
Strong multi‑jurisdictional knowledge and the ability to coach others. 
Identifies systemic issues across a portfolio and provides technical guidance to AEs. 
Applies early intervention and premium mitigation strategies for key clients. 
Reviews and quality‑assures technical outputs.
 

ORTW / Injury Management Service Delivery
Delivers day‑to‑day ORTW activities, including RTW plans, insurer liaison, progress calls, documentation. 
Oversees ORTW program performance for assigned accounts. 
Ensures all deliverables meet scope, timeliness, and insurer expectations. 
Partners with operational managers to resolve complex barriers or disputes. 
Coaches AEs on best practice injury management.
 

Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management
Primary day‑to‑day contact for a portfolio. 
Manages expectations, designs service schedules, and coordinates multi‑disciplinary teams. 
Handles mid‑level escalations and ensures client satisfaction.
 

Commercial & Financial Acumen
Manages allocation, upland entries, scope changes, and proposal support. 
Identifies fee leakage risks and ensures profitability of accounts. 
Prepares inputs for renewals and proposals.
 

Data Analytics & Reporting
Interprets premium and claims data trends, identifying actionable insights. 
Oversees client dashboards and reporting quality. 
Uses advanced data tools (ACP, diagnostics, performance reviews).
 

Communication & Influence
Confident, structured communicator; manages difficult conversations.
 

Collaboration & Team Leadership
Coaches junior staff; facilitates knowledge sharing.
 

Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
Diagnoses patterns across a portfolio; implements improved processes.

Manages multiple accounts, deadlines, scopes and priorities with autonomy.
