Lokesh began his journey at WTW in India, stepping into the organization with curiosity and an open mindset. What stood out immediately was the culture: “I was pleasantly surprised by how approachable everyone is. There’s a genuine openness to learning, and the way people build relationships here feels more long-term and trust-based rather than transactional.”

Starting as a management trainee in the Corporate Risk & Broking team within the Renewable Energy practice, Lokesh gained early exposure across placements and sales. This foundation allowed him to understand how different parts of the business connect, giving him a broader perspective beyond day-to-day tasks.

Shaping expertise through experience

As his career moved forward, Lokesh transitioned into the central broking team, where he now works across content, strategy and large account engagements. His role has evolved to include cross-functional collaboration, working closely with different teams to create proposals, meet with clients, and build successful insurance strategies.

This journey reflects the opportunities available at WTW where growth isn’t linear, but shaped by hands-on experience and the ability to take on new challenges. Along the way, he has developed both technical expertise and a deeper understanding of client needs.

Expanding knowledge through collective learning

One of the most rewarding aspects of Lokesh’s role is the constant opportunity to learn. Working with diverse teams brings fresh perspectives, with mentorship being a key part of his journey. “I was mentored by senior leaders, which gave me a lot of perspective from their experience. At the same time, the team around me was very supportive and helped me not just execute tasks but also build strong working relationships.”

WTW’s structured frameworks, brand guidelines and access to tools, including AI-driven solutions, have helped streamline workloads and improve efficiency. At the same time, the company supported his professional development through certifications such as the Broker Qualified Person (BQP), strengthening his foundation in insurance.

Thriving through challenges and change

Managing tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of execution and client service requires focus and adaptability. However, these challenges have been instrumental in shaping Lokesh’s approach, reinforcing the importance of teamwork, accountability, and delivering excellence.

Advice for those starting out

Reflecting on his experience so far, Lokesh emphasizes the importance of staying open to learning. Starting with a blank slate, asking questions and embracing new experiences can make a significant difference in how quickly you move forward.
