Jimi Martins’ 16 years with WTW are all about growth, community and balance

When you walk through the doors of the Lisbon Regional Delivery Hub, you’re likely to cross paths with André Martins – or Jimi, as he’s known around here . And if you do, you’ll meet someone who has grown alongside the Hub itself.

As Delivery Manager at WTW, Jimi has been with the company for over 16 years, and his journey reflects not only personal and professional growth, but the evolution of a thriving, collaborative culture.

A career built on progress and purpose

Jimi started his career at WTW as an Analyst and steadily progressed to leadership roles, taking on greater responsibilities over the years. Today, he leads teams and coordinates deliverables for some of the company’s most demanding clients. But his role doesn’t stop there.

“I’ve also become deeply involved in mentoring and training new colleagues—technically and professionally. Project management, reviewing complex technical work, and driving continuous improvement are now part of my daily life,” Jimi explains.

His career has been shaped not only by the projects he’s led but also by his commitment to helping others succeed.

Overcoming challenges through continuous improvement

For Jimi, the greatest challenge has been maintaining a mindset of constant improvement in a rapidly evolving environment.

“I’m always asking, ‘How can we do this better?’ It’s not just about refining processes but also about supporting each other as a team,” he says.

He places great value on identifying growth opportunities for colleagues and creating a culture rooted in knowledge sharing and mutual support.

Finding balance in a demanding industry

Actuarial consulting can be intense, but Jimi emphasizes the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing what truly matters to find the perfect work-life balance.

“Discipline and clarity are key. Over the years, I’ve learned that delivering excellent work is important, but so is how we do it. Respecting each person’s time and space creates a more sustainable and healthy work environment.”

From day one: a Lisbon Regional Delivery Hub pioneer

As one of the original team members at the Lisbon Regional Delivery Hub, founded in 2008, Jimi has witnessed the office evolve from a new venture to a key part of WTW’s operations.

“Being here since the beginning is something I’m deeply proud of. Watching the Hub grow into a cornerstone of our business—and knowing I contributed to that journey—is incredibly meaningful. This isn’t just a workplace. It’s a community built on shared goals and collective success.”

When asked to sum up his WTW experience in one word, Jimi doesn’t hesitate: Growth.

“Every step, every challenge, and every project has been a chance to grow, technically, personally, and collectively. And helping others do the same has been just as rewarding.”
