Insurance Consulting & Technology (ICT)
Insurance Consulting and Technology combines strategic and analytical skills to solve practical business problems, applying the latest techniques and technology solutions. Its client base comprises insurance companies operating in global and domestic markets (including P&C, life, A&H, captives, and reinsurers), corporate clients, regulators, and other insurance-related entities.
As well as advising more than three-quarters of the world’s leading insurers, Insurance Consulting and Technology is the world’s largest provider of insurance actuarial and technology solutions that includes leading software products and enterprise platforms.
The Role
- Operates as a member of the Global Finance Advisory (GFA) function within ICT, a team of accountants with extensive backgrounds in the insurance industry.
- The role is simultaneously operational/ tactical (data analysis, workshops, presentations) and strategic (product development and customer strategy)
- Supports clients with finance transformation projects in relation to reporting, analytics, automation, and process simplification. e.g., working with clients to redesign financial closing reporting and controls processes, management information systems, and analytical frameworks
- Where WTW technology is involved:
- understands Client technical accounting and process specifications and ensures alignment with WTW accounting requirements and system capabilities
- co-ordinates with the Client project teams and other internal WTW stakeholders (Actuarial, Data Teams) to ensure implementation requirements are successfully met
- Assimilate customer and market experience and work with internal stakeholders to continuously develop products and solutions
- Work with senior management across the South-East Asia region to coordinate client initiatives
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Qualified Accountant or Equivalent qualifications with at least 12-15 years of work experience
- Good knowledge and experience of working in a finance function within the Insurance industry (Life or Non-Life). Its organization, processes, systems, and current accounting practices
- Self-starter, with good organisation and communication skills
- Knowledge of Finance IT systems, e.g., SAP, Oracle, and reporting tools, is an advantage
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 and the insurance company’s financial statements is an advantage
- Flexibility in responding to the changing business environment and desire for continuous improvement
