Empowering Women in Early Careers: Stories from WTW’s Rising Talent

Jul 28 2025

Starting a career is a transformative chapter, one filled with questions, ambition, and opportunity. At WTW, supporting all colleagues at this crucial stage means more than mentorship or flexible schedules, it means building a culture where voices are heard, growth is encouraged, and leadership is nurtured from day one.

We spoke with four graduate analysts, Mady Bell, Leah Mangold, Diya Kamodia, and Khanak Gupta, to understand how they feel empowered as women in early careers to thrive and grow.

Finding confidence and community from the start

For many early-career professionals, the first few months can be daunting. But Mady Bell, a Graduate Analyst in Healthcare and Life Sciences, shares that her journey at WTW began with support and opportunity from the outset:

“I have interned at WTW for the past two summers before accepting a role. Contributing to various aspects of the company has significantly aided my development as a young professional woman, and I look forward to continuing this journey.”

Similarly, Leah Mangold, a Graduate Analyst in Facultative and Structured Risk, emphasizes the welcoming culture she experienced from day one:

“What stands out most is the openness and approachability of everyone. I’ve always felt comfortable asking questions, knowing that my colleagues are genuinely eager to help.”

Balancing ambition with wellbeing

A meaningful career shouldn’t come at the expense of personal priorities. Across all four stories, a recurring theme emerges: flexibility and understanding are central to WTW’s support of all colleagues in early careers.

“WTW offers flexible work arrangements and encourages a healthy work-life balance,” says Mady. “The inclusive culture ensures that everyone feels valued and supported.”

Leah echoes this sentiment, crediting WTW’s hybrid model for allowing her to recharge and stay grounded:

“The hybrid approach of my learning and work has allowed me to travel on weekends, prioritize my physical and mental health, and maintain a sense of balance.”

Seeing yourself in leaders

Representation matters and seeing women in leadership roles isn’t just inspiring, it’s empowering. For Diya Kamodia, an analyst in Cyber Practice, it made all the difference:

“The presence of strong female leaders, alongside male leaders who actively support and uplift their colleagues, creates a culture of genuine allyship.”

Khanak Gupta, a Graduate Analyst in Property and Casualty, agrees. She highlights how WTW champions colleagues of all backgrounds:

“I feel truly empowered by seeing women, especially women of color in leadership roles. That kind of support goes beyond formal programs, it’s personal, thoughtful and consistent.”

Mentorship, visibility, and inclusive leadership ensure that all colleagues, including women in early careers see a future they can believe in and build toward.

Advice from women who’ve been there

We asked each graduate what advice they’d give to other women exploring opportunities in early career programs. The responses were thoughtful, real, and universally empowering.

“Be authentic and stay true to yourself,” says Diya. “Embrace every opportunity, even if it feels outside your comfort zone.”

“Seek out opportunities where you feel both supported and challenged,” says Leah. “The right program will empower you personally and professionally.”

“Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need,” adds Khanak. “Advocate for your growth and share what you learn.”

“At WTW, people are open to discussing their career paths and your interests” Mady explains. “It’s not just about learning the business, it’s about building the soft skills that will carry you forward.”

This wisdom shows that growth is never one-size-fits-all, it’s about finding the right environment, asking the right questions, and staying true to your vision.

Empowerment that goes beyond the job description

At WTW, empowerment isn’t limited to a role or title, it’s embedded in the culture. From support networks and mentorship programs to celebrations like International Women’s Day and partnerships, the focus is clear: all colleagues at WTW are seen, heard, and championed.

“WTW creates an environment where women are encouraged to thrive, grow, and lead with confidence,” Leah says.

“Resources, mentorship, and growth opportunities are visible and accessible to all,” Diya adds.

This culture of visibility and inclusivity ensures that young women aren’t just starting their careers, they’re shaping futures.
