Description
The Account Manager - P&C will manage and grow a portfolio of Property & Casualty clients, ensuring their insurance and risk management needs are identified and met through tailored broking and risk advisory solutions. The role combines high-quality client service with new business development, portfolio growth and cross selling, supported by strong market knowledge, commercial acumen and trusted relationships with clients, insurers and key stakeholders.
The Role
- Manage and grow a portfolio of Property & Casualty clients, ensuring their insurance and risk management needs are understood and delivered through tailored solutions.
- Develop, implement and review client service strategies, agreed service plans and multi-tier client contacts, and obtain formal client feedback annually.
- Build, maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and representing the voice of the client in internal decisions regarding process, approach and future strategy.
- Lead insurance renewals, program design, coverage and wording reviews, negotiations and placements, working closely with insurers to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Drive new business growth by identifying, pursuing and converting opportunities within target markets, establishing an industry-segmented pipeline and contributing to prospecting activity.
- Develop and implement sales and business development strategies to expand market presence, increase revenue and achieve portfolio growth targets.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across WTW, including Employee Benefits, Construction, Workplace Risk, M&A and FINEX, to maximise client value and retention.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, referral partners and key stakeholders to support client servicing and business development objectives.
- Ensure all sales and client service processes comply with the WTW Excellence Model, the Client Excellence Model, WCS principles and applicable local regulations.
- Ensure settlements, client cash allocations and credit management remain within agreed parameters.
- Collaborate with local and international colleagues and teams to expand WTW's global value proposition, including oversight of customer support service brokers.
- Contribute to a high-performing team culture by sharing market insights, supporting colleagues, undertaking professional development and achieving individual and team revenue targets.
- Promote the WTW brand within the insurance industry, both locally and internationally, and leverage best practice from across WTW within the business.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- At least five annual business cycles of insurance broking or industry experience, including experience in a similar broker service delivery role.
- Tier 1 insurance broking qualification in accordance with the Financial Services Reform Act.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience managing senior-level client relationships, with a strong focus on exceptional service.
- Experience with the placement and servicing of complex and multinational clients.
- Excellent technical capability in coverage and wording review, with a proven understanding of claims management processes.
- Strong negotiation, troubleshooting and persuasive skills to manage client and business relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, both one-to-one and with groups, together with strong report-writing capability.
- Ability to prepare thought leadership publications and communicate market insights clearly.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
- Preferably degree qualified in any discipline.
