The Boston Office Line of Business Leader (OLL) is responsible to provide proactive leadership to W&R colleagues within the market, including recruitment, development, engagement, and retention. This role will develop and implement a market strategy to drive sales and marketing efforts within the Boston geography, including cross-business opportunities. This role will also manage financial contributions of the team to impact W&R North America’s P&L as well as WTW’s global brand and market share.
The Role
Note this role is intended to occupy about 25% of the colleague’s time, with the remaining 75% to be spent as a client-facing W&R consultant selling and leading delivery on client projects.
Colleague Engagement and Development
- Partner with market leader, people managers and Colleague Enablement to recruit, develop, engage and retain the best team possible
- Incorporate people manager input into pay and performance feedback provided to RLL; provide greater insights of key pay decisions to people managers regarding final pay and performance rating actions
- Support people managers in addressing performance issues with their direct reports
- Enable and drive career development for direct reports and ensures adequate career development is occurring with people managers enable and drive career development for team both locally and through effective use of Mavenlink
- Network with local market leadership to support overall business, colleague and community engagement
Sales/Market Strategy
- Sales leader promoting W&R and engaging LRMs, other senior sellers and LOB leaders
- In collaboration with W&R Regional Growth Leads [role currently being defined], develop go to market strategy to drive sales and marketing efforts
- Initiate, promote and support local W&R IC efforts, industry efforts/studies, forums and roundtables
- Work with market/LOB/industry leads, LRMs, SMEs and marketing to drive synergies of go-to-market initiatives to promote brand and market presence
- Drive W&R sales efforts of Sr. Seller team, including opportunities for cross-LOB selling
Business Management
- Manage financial contributions of team, driving and ensuring timely hours recording, billing and collections
- Drive and influence adoption of WTW, HWC, and W&R operational initiatives (e.g. coordinated resource management model, MS Dynamics, etc)
- Professional Excellence – maintain and/or improve annual PE score for team
- Serve on local market leadership team(s) for areas of collective market management
The Requirements
- Demonstrated success in:
- a leadership role
- leading and developing others (significant people management role)
- developing and growing client relationships and sales
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in finance, human resources, business or related field preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements for various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role base on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual qualifications, education/profession certifications, experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $230,000- $325,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
