Description
The Role
-
Portfolio and Client Management - Education Specialization
- Manage, retain, and grow a significant portfolio of Education clients
- Manage comprehensive insurance programs tailored to the sector, covering risks such as:
- Public & Products Liability for schools and campuses
- Professional Indemnity for educators and training staff
- Student Accident / Personal Injury
- Cyber risk & data breach protection
- Employment Practices Liability
- Property & ISR for multi-building campuses
- Travel (domestic & international student staff travel)
- Special issues cover to meet safeguarding obligations
- Provide strategic risk advice aligned to sector-specific obligations
- Lead and own the renewal strategy engagement with client
- Manage and execute reporting to state clients
- Conduct on site client visits
- Proactively engage with clients on emerging risks impacting the sector
People Leadership

Business Development and Sector Growth
- Identify opportunities to expand the Education portfolio through networks, associations, and sector relationships.
- Attend and represent the organisation at education industry events, conferences, and board briefings.
- Build deep, trusted relationships with school boards, business managers, principals, and risk teams.
- Lead tender responses and proposal development for large schools, multi-campus networks in conjunction with National Education Lead
- Work with National Education Lead to execute growth plans for the state.

Operational Excellence and Compliance
- Maintain complete and accurate client documentation
- Participate in business improvement initiatives relevant to Education broking operations.

Claim and Risk Advisory
- Partner with claims specialists to deliver positive outcomes and keep clients informed.
- Analyse claims trends for clients in the portfolio and proactively recommend risk mitigation strategies
Performance Measures
- Portfolio retention across the Education sector.
- Revenue growth and cross sell outcomes.
- Satisfaction levels from principals, boards, and business managers.
- Team engagement and performance.
Ensure all sales processes are compliant with the WTW Excellence Model and local regulations.
Ensure adherence to Client Excellence Model (CEM) and WCS principles.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience
Required
- Minimum 7–10 years of corporate insurance broking experience.
- Demonstrated success managing a sizeable revenue portfolio.
- Experience leading teams and developing broking professionals.
- Strong technical knowledge across product lines
- Confidence engaging with senior education stakeholders (boards, principals, CFOs, risk managers).
- Tier 1 Insurance Broking Qualification.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.

Excellent technical skills in coverage and wording reviews
Preferred
- ANZIIF CIP designation.
- Understanding of emerging risks for the sector.
