About Team
The Outsourcing Great Britain Technology team provides and safeguards the technology environment that underpins pensions administration services. The team is responsible for maintaining and recovering critical systems, supporting service management activities such as incidents, requests, problems, and changes, and ensuring operational resilience through regular Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery exercises. Our work helps ensure the secure, reliable, and continuous delivery of outsourcing services to clients while meeting internal governance and risk requirements.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation engineer for our team for various product components on the pension platform.
You will work alongside test leadership to identify key areas of risk, design, create, execute and build upon regression testing packs to maintain integrity and quality of builds. This role gives an excellent opportunity to build functional and technical expertise in the pension area and gives an opportunity to have a view and implement ideas on achieving QA automation roadmap objectives.
Responsible for quality assurance relating to new projects, Regression suites, client installations, enhancements and pack maintenance.
• Work closely with various stakeholders to bring in new idea to reduce effort, optimize ways of working
• understand the process flows and test requirements ensure high quality on-time delivery.
• Apply extensive automation experience to lead the automation test pack creation, execution and maintenance
• Take ownership for automation outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with other scrum teams to understand the integration testing, possible areas of risk and regression testing required.
• Partner with peers across disciplines (Software Development, DevOps, Strategy and Architecture) to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of quality and resilient solutions.
• Supports team members across geographical locations.
• Identify key improvements continually to help drive efficiencies
• Fosters a culture where risks and issues are managed at the lowest responsible level by communicating and collaborating with team members.
• Works closely with Development, Product/Business Analysts, and other Software Engineering functions to ensure high quality on-time delivery
• Collaborate with the wider automation test teams to build and share technical expertise/capabilities/skills through the delivery of regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and coaching.
• Communication with key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions. Convince and present proposals by way of high-level solutions to end users and/or stakeholders.
• High learning adaptability, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and / or operations.
The Requirement
• Engineering degree would be beneficial but evidenced by experience in a large enterprise environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate a strong of software process, tools and techniques
• Fluency in an object-oriented programming language such as Python, C#, or Java, preferably Python
• Working knowledge of the following technologies: JSON, XML, CI/CD
• Working knowledge of automation frameworks, including understanding of test automation design
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile/Scrum framework
• Excellent Database knowledge to carry of test data automation
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of using development tools such as PyCharm, Visual Studio, or Eclipse
• Advanced skills in API based automated test development
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Unit Testing
• Strong knowledge of tools and techniques used in manual and automation testing
• Advanced skills in UI automated test development
• knowledge of performance tools
• Manages time effectively by placing the right focus on value added operations
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment that has tight deadlines
• Demonstrates an openness to changing approaches and gathers information to create an informed opinion and attitude
• Capability to guide and mentor junior QA engineers
• Knowledge or experience of AI Testing tools or practices
Qualifications
Any full‑time graduate degree (BE/BTech/BSc/BCA or equivalent preferred)
