Description

The Business Development Executive will drive sales growth in a variety of sectors and target industries using expertise in creating and generating leads as well as developing a robust new prospect pipeline to ensure sales targets are met to support the Commercial Unit’s growth strategy.

The Role

  • Actively identify potential leads to grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline and attract new clients 

  • Consistently and accurately maintain CRM dynamics database ensuring content is kept up to date 

  • Meet deadlines and sales targets

  • Maintain excellent relationships with insurers and stay up to date on industry developments

  • Conduct meetings with prospective clients when required

  • Supporting and liaising with the Head of Commercial, the Head of Retail Sales, and the Sales and Marketing Teams including attendance at regular team meetings 

  • Understand target markets (including industry) and which strategies can be used to attract new clients 

  • Meticulous attention to detail ensuring internal company and regulatory standards are always adhered to 

  • Support marketing campaigns by telephone follow-up 

  • Dealing with clients in a professional manner. Dealing with queries in a timely fashion and ensuring any outstanding matters are addressed prior to handover to the business

  • Checking and issuing policy documentation 

  • Collaborating with the team to ensure the smooth implementation of campaigns and their rollout and follow up

  • Assisting in the development of internal cross selling campaigns by collaborating with internal stakeholders

  • Mapping new business opportunities using industry research, taking a proactive approach to bringing new market intelligence to the team and delivering on targets

  • Completion of detailed market submissions and insurer follow up

  • Supporting client facing staff in maintaining CRM requirements 

  • Self-generate prospect meetings 

  • Work with team colleagues to develop winning proposals for prospects 

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of products and services offered by WTW

  • Networking – internally with other business units, within the sector, and with external specialists (lawyers, TPAs, insurers)Engage with WTW capabilities such as Risk & Analytics, Forensic Accounting & Valuations Services, and Cyber consultancy where possible and appropriate

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • CIP qualified, and preferably progress towards full ACII

  • Experienced at new business sales process and track record of converting prospects to clients

  • Previous experience in a sales driven role in the insurance industry an advantage

  • Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists

  • Practical knowledge of account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim

  • Experienced knowledge of insurance industry in order to deal effectively with client and WTW needs

  • Ability to represent the practice and WTW with integrity and credibility

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Full Irish / EU / EEA driving licence
