Description
WTW is growing its Facultative Reinsurance capabilities in Europe and is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Facultative Reinsurance Broker to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic reinsurance industry, working alongside experienced brokers and contributing to the delivery of effective risk transfer solutions for our clients.
As a Broker, you will support the broking team in placing facultative reinsurance, preparing client submissions, and building relationships with cedants and reinsurers. You'll have the chance to grow your expertise in reinsurance through real-world exposure, internal development programs, and collaboration with global WTW teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation and analysis of client risks to help design appropriate facultative reinsurance solutions.
- Support the preparation of placement documentation, including presentations and submissions to reinsurers.
- Participate in negotiations of facultative terms and conditions under the guidance of senior brokers.
- Help manage existing facultative portfolios, including administrative tasks such as documentation and policy tracking.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (client teams, claims, legal, finance) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of reinsurance services.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and support relationship-building with cedants and reinsurers in the Italian market.
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Learn and apply WTW’s tools and systems to support the placement and servicing of facultative reinsurance.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or a related financial services environment is a plus.
- Basic understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance concepts.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. A good knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to be part of a supportive, international team.
