Description
As a senior leader within the Large & Complex Primary Casualty Placement North America team, this individual will help shape market strategy, strengthen carrier relationships, and deliver innovative casualty solutions for some of WTW’s most sophisticated clients. This role will serve as both a strategic casualty advisor and senior broker, driving industry-specific growth initiatives while leading the placement of large and complex casualty programs.
This individual will coordinate broking efforts across multiple offices, support new business production, advise clients on emerging casualty risks and alternative risk financing strategies, and serve as a recognized casualty market leader internally and externally. The role requires deep expertise in casualty insurance structures, strong underwriting and carrier relationships, advanced negotiation skills, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex risk challenges.

The Role
Large & Complex Casualty Placement Leadership:
- Lead the placement and negotiation of large, complex, and loss-sensitive casualty programs across North America.
- Develop and execute casualty placement strategies that align with client objectives and broader North American market strategy.
- Negotiate coverage terms, conditions, pricing, and program structures with senior underwriting partners.
- Review and evaluate submissions, quotes, coverage analyses, binders, and placement documentation.
- Provide technical casualty expertise and guidance to brokers, client advocates, and producers.
Industry Leadership & Market Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for targeted industry sectors and casualty placement growth opportunities.
- Monitor emerging casualty trends, litigation environments, regulatory developments, and marketplace dynamics.
- Partner with producers and client service teams to identify opportunities for growth, retention, and new business development.
- Support RFPs, finalist presentations, and complex new business opportunities.
Client Advisory & Risk Solutions:
- Advise clients on casualty risk management, insurance program design, alternative risk financing, and emerging exposures.
- Participate in executive client meetings, stewardship reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
- Design customized risk transfer strategies and casualty solutions for complex organizations.
- Utilize analytics, modeling, and market intelligence to guide placement strategies and client recommendations.
Carrier & Market Engagement:
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with insurers, wholesalers, and underwriting partners.
- Identify opportunities for innovative market solutions, specialized coverage enhancements, and exclusive program development.
- Serve as a key liaison between clients, producers, and carrier partners throughout the placement process.
Thought Leadership & Team Development:
- Develop market updates, white papers, industry insights, and client-facing thought leadership materials.
- Represent WTW at industry conferences, client events, and market meetings.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level brokers within the casualty placement organization.
- Foster collaboration across placement, client advocacy, analytics, and industry vertical teams.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Property & Casualty broker license required.
- 10+ years of casualty broking, placement, or client advisory experience, including large and complex accounts.
- Demonstrated expertise in casualty insurance coverage, loss-sensitive program structures, and large-account placements.
- Strong carrier relationships and a proven track record negotiating complex casualty solutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Ability to analyze complex client issues and translate technical insurance concepts into practical business solutions.
- Excellent executive presence, presentation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and business development capabilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000 – $250,000 USD per year.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
