Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Client & Market Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships across all Marine market segments, including shipowners, cargo owners and commodity traders, ports & terminals, marine logistics and supply‑chain operators, offshore and marine construction entities, and marine liability buyers.
- Act as a trusted strategic partner, identifying evolving client needs and delivering tailored multi‑line Marine solutions.
- Lead market‑facing activities such as client meetings, industry forums, and broker & underwriter engagement.
- Enhance brand visibility and strengthen the firm’s position as a market leader in Marine across Vietnam
2. Growth Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive growth plan for Hull, P&I, Cargo, Ports & Terminals, Marine Liability and other Marine products, aligned with divisional strategy.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across all Marine lines, including structured cross‑sell and up‑sell initiatives.
- Analyze competitors, pricing trends, emerging risks, and global Marine developments to inform commercial strategy.
- Drive pipeline expansion and deliver consistent revenue growth across the region.
3. Technical & Commercial Leadership
- Provide expert guidance on policy structuring, pricing, coverage design, and placement strategy across all Marine classes.
- Collaborate closely with underwriters and brokers to secure optimal programme design and placement outcomes.
- Ensure technical quality, compliance, and consistency in all Marine deliverables.
- Support the Global Head of Marine in aligning the African Marine portfolio with global objectives.
4. Portfolio Development & Innovation
- Develop and manage a diversified Marine portfolio covering Hull, P&I, Cargo, Ports & Terminals, Marine Liabilities, Logistics, Specie, and associated risks.
- Provide high‑level technical input on contractual reviews, operational exposures, risk profiling, and coverage tailoring.
- Lead the creation of innovative solutions for complex marine risks.
- Promote thought leadership and contribute to the evolution of Marine propositions across the region.
5. Team Collaboration & Capability Building
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Marine division to share insights, develop integrated solutions, and align best practices.
- Support internal stakeholders to elevate Marine capability across the region
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Deep technical understanding of multiple Marine lines including Hull & Machinery, P&I, Cargo, Ports & Terminals, Marine Liabilities, Logistics & Supply Chain, Offshore & Marine Construction.
- Strong awareness of Marine market dynamics, operational processes, regulatory frameworks, and global industry trends.
- Proven track record in business development or client relationship management within Marine insurance.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience in risk assessment, programme design, and policy review.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience within Marine insurance or related field.
