The Role

Purpose & Objective 

The successful candidate will lead the APAC region’s PVT portfolio, driving strategic growth,innovation, and operational excellence. This role is accountable for both client retention and new business development, managing key client relationships, developing tailored solutions, and mentoring a high-performing team. The Head of PVT, APAC will be responsible for market penetration, prospecting, and achieving revenue and market share goals, shaping the future of crisis management and specialty broking in a dynamic, global environment.

 

Portfolio Leadership

  • Manage resources for the regional portfolio, acting as lead for major clients and delegating responsibilities to Singapore and GB teams as appropriate.
  • Oversee large account strategy and ensure best-in-class client service delivery.
  • Develop and execute a sales/network engagement framework for the region.
  • Primary accountability for creating and executing business strategies to penetrate local and regional markets, targeting and converting prospects, and retaining and growing revenue with clients.


Strategic Development

  • Drive cross-sell initiatives with other specialty teams, with support from Crisis Management/PVT sales teams.
  • Develop region-specific solutions and distribution platforms.
  • Refine broking strategy, including local placement facilities and adoption of new technology.

Technical & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Provide technical, industry, and subject matter expertise in PVT.
  • Serve as senior strategist for clients, ensuring solutions meet clients’ needs and fit within their overall strategy.
  • Support, service, and advise clients on complex PVT and crisis management matters.

Operational Excellence

  • Embed activity management disciplines (e.g., new business pipeline, technology adoption).
  • Support delivery of agreed investments and identify potential acquisition targets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and technical standards and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Team & Talent Development

  • Mentor and train junior team members.
  • Review resourcing and develop local ‘CM champions’ in region.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Identify and develop future producer talent in the region.

Analytics & Differentiation

  • Leverage analytics and other differentiators for integration and success across the network.
  • Collaborate with global R&A leads to enhance analytical capabilities.

Financial & Crisis Management

  • Support the Crisis Management regional leader in budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
  • Meet or exceed revenue and market penetration goals.
  • Ensure accurate financial oversight and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Brand Promotion

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the region in global initiatives and meetings.
  • Promote WTW’s brand and values to enhance the company’s reputation in the APAC region.

 

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification preferred.
  • Educated to degree level or with extensive relevant industry experience.
  • 10+ years insurance market experience, ideally in Political Violence or Property, with technical, industry, and subject matter expertise.
  • Experience in the placement and servicing of PVT insurance, with credibility in the APAC market.
  • Extensive experience in political violence, terrorism, or crisis management insurance.
  • Proven leadership in managing large portfolios and teams.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Market Reform Contracts for Insurance and Reinsurance.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed
