Description
The Sales Originator is a critical role in our Health and Benefits (H&B) practice, driving revenue growth by building relationships with prospective clients and seeing them through the full sales cycle. Leveraging WTW’s deep specialty resources, intellectual capital, and innovative products and solutions, you will be expected to present our market leading value proposition to close new client business. Success is directly tied to achievement of personal sales success for the Toronto H&B office, with incentive compensation aligned accordingly.
The Role
- Primary accountability for creating and executing strategy to penetrate the local market
- Lead and generate personal sales pipeline that supports the achievement of local revenue growth goals with a primary focus on attaining new clients
- Meet or exceed minimum sales goals as established by WTW
- Serve as a door-opener, bringing in H&B Teams to support the sale and act as a strategist to the delivery team
- Price services and products in a profitable manner while recognizing market pricing demands and securing appropriate approvals at the local and regional level
- Raise awareness of WTW capabilities in the marketplace through social media marketing and various other profile building venues (WTW client/prospect sessions, client events)
- Lead contributions to the local sales pipeline and ensure timely entry into WTW sales tracking systems
- Ongoing support and collaboration with Canadian Sales Leader and Toronto Market Leader
- Leverage WTW intellectual capital to penetrate sales channels

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- 3+ years of successful prospect development, ideally in an H&B brokerage, insurer or consulting environment
- An executive presence with polished and well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability and discipline to develop a large volume of potential clients independently and effectively
- Proven ability to close on new client opportunities
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity and prospect rejection occur
- Knowledge of and curiosity about trends and issues relevant to prospect development
- Efficient transition of closed sales to delivery teams via strong communication
- Contribution to national sales intellectual capital and tools
- Life license or successfully licensed within 90 days of employment
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $70,000 CAD -$85,000 CAD per year.
This role is also eligible for compensation plan with commission-based bonuses.
