Job Summary
As a trainee, you will need good numerical and communication skills, the ability to plan work effectively and a strong desire to solve technical problems. You will learn what we do for our clients as you build strong working relationships, participate, and actively engage in training sessions, developing valuable skills from day one.
This is a consulting support role where you will work as part of a team on a wide variety of complex projects serving as a key resource for our diverse UK based client teams.
Principle Duties
• Complex data manipulation
• Calculating and valuing the benefits of individual members
• Pension scheme valuations
• Accounting disclosures
• Client billing
• Cross-departmental projects.
• Develop a trusted advisor relationship with service center and onshore UK client teams through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects.
• Manage expectations and raise appropriate issues to internal and consulting office project managers.
• Manage and prioritize own workload efficiently to fulfil commitments in a timely manner
• Contribute to profitability by completing budget spreadsheets, monitoring own time spent on project, seeking ways to enhance efficiency, and maintaining accurate time records
Qualifications
Graduate in Actuarial Science or in a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics, statistics or economics.
1 - 2 CT exams passed and the recent one within the last one year with clear progress shown towards becoming an actuary
Exam support and Training:
WTW will support you through the actuarial exams and provide a flexible study support package.
You will participate in 36-month structured development programme where you will be provided with on-the-job training consisting of a mix of classroom sessions, eLearning, webinars, recorded videos, self-study and reading.
Upon successful completion of the programme, there is potential to progress into specialist or technical roles.
Experience: ·
0-2 years of experience in a client-service oriented environment preferably retirement, pension administration / valuation
Skills and Competencies: ·
Clear aptitude for teamwork, planning and organizing·
Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it·
Team player and Detail oriented
Effective communication skills.
Client-focus· Strong analytical and interpretational skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in logical, systematic way·
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, accomplish within stipulated timelines· Actuarial acumen
Knowledge:
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel preferred
