The Role
MANAGER-BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
As part of the national sales team, this role plays a key part in driving business growth for our Bologna office, with a strong focus on building a visible and impactful presence across the local market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities by proactively developing relationships with key decision makers within the regional business community, in line with the regional sales strategy.
While operating with a high level of autonomy in building and managing a robust sales pipeline, the individual will benefit from the support of a collaborative team, established tools, and a proven approach to winning new business.

Location: Bologna, with responsibility for business development across the Emilia-Romagna region.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a strong presence in the local market, developing long-term relationships with business leaders and key decision makers.
- Proactively drive new business development activities, identifying and converting opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Contribute to defining and executing targeted strategies to expand a high-quality network of prospects.
- Generate leads through networking, market engagement, and direct outreach activities.
- Develop and manage a strong and sustainable sales pipeline, ensuring consistent business growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across WTW to identify client needs and deliver tailored, value-driven solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to negotiation and closing.
- Ensure all prospect interactions and pipeline developments are accurately recorded and maintained within WTW CRM systems.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Proven experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within professional or financial services and with exposure to mid-market and large accounts.
- Strong ability to build and nurture relationships within a local business community.
- Demonstrated capability to manage complex sales processes from prospecting through to closing.
- Highly proactive, self-driven, and able to operate with autonomy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong client focus, with the ability to understand needs and translate them into value-added solutions.
- Experience working with structured sales processes and CRM systems.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the drive to contribute to the growth and positioning of the Bologna office.
