Description
The Account Manager plays a key role in delivering high‑quality insurance and risk advice to a portfolio of corporate clients. You’ll work closely with Account Directors and specialists across the business to design, place and manage insurance programs, while building trusted relationships with clients and insurers.
This role suits someone who enjoys ownership, problem‑solving and client leadership, and who wants to deepen their technical expertise while continuing to build strong commercial skills.
The Role
- Manage the day to day servicing of a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring their insurance and risk programs are delivered accurately, on time and to a high standard.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries, managing renewals and supporting claims activity in collaboration with claims specialists.
- Understand clients’ businesses, risks and priorities, and ensure solutions are tailored accordingly.
Placement, renewals and technical support - Support the placement and renewal of insurance programs, including reviewing coverage, coordinating insurer submissions and analysing renewal terms.
- Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms, manage queries and maintain strong market relationships.
- Identify coverage gaps, changes in exposure and opportunities to improve client outcomes.
- Contribute to the growth of client accounts through cross selling, retention and identification of new opportunities.
- Support Account Directors in new business pursuits, presentations and client pitches.
- Maintain disciplined client documentation, billing and credit control in line with agreed processes.
- Work closely with offshore support teams and internal specialists to ensure efficient delivery.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members as required.
- Actively participate in professional development and ongoing learning.
- Build credibility quickly with clients and insurers
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Experience in insurance broking or a related role within the insurance industry.
- Solid understanding of insurance placement, renewals and claims processes.
- Confidence reviewing policy wordings and engaging with insurers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Appropriate regulatory qualifications (or willingness to obtain them).
- Experience with corporate clients, complex risks or multinational programs is well regarded but not essential.
