We invite you to join our Retirement consulting team, recognized for its ability to combine actuarial and investment expertise to support organizations around the world in optimizing the effectiveness of their employee retirement programs. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension or a defined contribution plan, we work with them to determine the right approach to designing, funding, investing, governing and employee management that fits their specific goals. 

Our team also provides training to groups of pension plan participants on the importance of retirement planning, the key features of their plans, and the concept of financial independence. 

The Role 

As an actuarial analyst, you will work alongside some of the best advisors in the field while progressing toward your actuarial qualification. Gain direct exposure to real client assignments which will draw on your imagination and creativity as well as your ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and share your results.  This position will help you strengthen your actuarial knowledge and broaden your overall expertise in the Retirement sector, while benefiting from a training program tailored to your needs.

You will partner with consultants to develop the best strategic solutions for our clients. This may include some of the following projects:

  • Designing, funding, pricing, implementing, and managing retirement programs
  • Competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs  
  • Actuarial modeling, including annual valuations, projections, and assumption reviews 
  • Retirement needs and resources assessments
  • Improving efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to enhance processes
  • Preparing and participating in client presentations and communications
  • Finally, you will also learn about all the services offered by WTW and how they complement and enhance our retirement consulting services.

Qualifications

The Requirements  

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or finance (with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0)
  • Progress or interest towards actuarial credentials (ACIA, FCIA and/or ASA, FSA)
  • Work experience that demonstrates strong technical and/or client service skills (ideally an actuarial internship)
  • Strong interest in solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client 
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently, but also cooperatively in a close team environment 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Leadership and business sense
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel

WTW serves a clientele with a national and international presence and must be able to always offer services in French and English. This position requires bilingualism, as the analyst will need to provide services related to various communications exclusively in French or English, in addition to interacting with multiple stakeholders in Canada who speak only French or English.
