Description

As a UX Designer at Willis Towers Watson, you will join a collaborative team of fellow Business, Product, Design and Technical stakeholders to work on transforming the Human Capital Management industry, by turning complex problems into elegant user experience solutions that delight our clients and our users. We create and innovate SaaS web and mobile software for Fortune 500 clients. This important role works with global product and development teams to help inform and execute user experience design across a defined area of our Employee Experience product portfolio.

This role is focused on designing innovative user experience for enterprise-level web and mobile applications that integrate across our portfolio of software. This includes high-collaboration with UX/UI team members, stakeholders, users and our business to research, elicit and define, design and deliver innovative next-generation web and mobile user experiences. 

With your demonstrable experience in user experience, activities you will perform include working with fellow UXUI team members eliciting requirements and needs, helping with design sessions, design thinking, feedback sessions, usability testing, producing various flow diagramming, contributing to persona development, journey mapping, rapid prototyping, design iteration, wireframing, mid to high fidelity mock-ups and UI documentation. You will also work to ensure corporate level UX/UI and digital brand standards are implemented, for both consistency and usability. You have a basic understanding of accessibility and WCAG.

  • You have experience working with empathy maps, personas, journey maps or other artifacts, along with storytelling to help the team connect with, empathize and understand our users. 
  • You are comfortable partnering with other UX/UI team members to grow your skills and contribute to delivering the most valuable solutions.

  • You have an understanding of UI and interaction design principles, use of typography, color and page layouts, with an eye for detail.
  • You work with team members to test sacrificial design concepts to ultimately deliver the most valuable solutions. 
  • You have a basic and growing understanding of UI and interaction design principles, use of typography, color and page layouts, with an eye for detail. You are collaborative, professional with solid communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • You effectively communicate your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis. 
  • You have experience working in an Agile SDLC. 
  • You are comfortable in helping define, then reporting out on the progress of your tasks. 

 

Additional for Senior Level:

  • Lead discovery and conceptualization for complex product areas.

  • Facilitate and independently conduct user research, usability studies, and formative design activities.

  • Translate complex data or workflows into simple, elegant user experiences.

  • Mentor junior designers and help grow shared understanding within the team.

  • Provide strategic guidance to product teams using data-driven design.

  • Drive alignment across designers and ensure platform-wide consistency.

  • Contribute expertise in advanced interaction design, enterprise UX, or embedded AI interfaces (preferred).

Qualifications

The Requirement

All Levels:

  • Ability to work remotely and virtually with stakeholders, users and a global team, while maintaining high-collaboration, clear communications and meeting work expectations. 

  • You have a basic understanding of UX design thinking methods, that elicit and promote shared understanding across the team. 

  • Ability to support aligning design work across a platform, working with other designers and delivering a holistic and consistent experience. 

  • Growing experience in communicating your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis. 

  • You foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure success.

  • You have an understanding of HCI, UI and interaction design principles, enterprise design systems and digital brand standards.

  • Proficiency in Figma for UI design, wireframing, and interactive prototyping. Able to produce clear, detailed visual designs and clickable prototypes.

  • Over 2 years’ experience with User Experience Design for web applications.

  • Over 1 years’ experience with User-Centered Design in an Agile SDLC.

  • Basic understanding of accessibility in web and responsive applications.

  • Growing in planning, executing, user experience design work.

  • Good collaborative, professional, communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to balance priorities and communicate issues or the need for support. 

  • This is not a coding role, a conceptual understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired. 

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Information Science or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to present user experience design and work samples of completed projects during interview process is required.

  • Possible 10% travel required, including international.

 

The following requirements will be considered for the Senior-level role:

  • 7+ years of UX experience with enterprise-level SaaS or complex web applications.

  • 7+ years applying user-centered design in an Agile SDLC.

  • Demonstrated experience designing for complex systems, data-heavy interfaces, or conversational UX.

  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and enterprise design systems.

  • Ability to lead design activities, define problem spaces, and validate concepts.

  • Preferred: Experience designing interfaces with embedded AI and understanding of AI observability and transparency in user interfaces
  • Deep domain experience in at least 1 and preferably 2 of the following areas: 
    • Compensation

    • Retirement
