The role
We are seeking a Bid Manager on a 12-month contract to lead the coordination, development, and delivery of high-quality proposals, tenders, and client presentations across WTW's business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end proposal lifecycle for strategic pursuits, tenders, RFPs, EOIs and panel submissions.
- Partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop winning strategies that clearly articulate WTW's value proposition and differentiators.
- Facilitating bid kick-off meetings, governance reviews, pursuit planning sessions and submission milestones.
- Reviewing tender requirements and developing response strategies that maximise compliance, competitiveness and client relevance.
- Writing, editing and refining proposal content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy and alignment with WTW brand guidelines.
- Translating complex technical, risk and consulting solutions into clear, compelling and client-focused messaging.
- Coordinating contributions from stakeholders across multiple business segments, functions and geographies.
- Managing proposal timelines, deliverables and risk mitigation activities to ensure on-time submission.
- Supporting the development of client presentations, pitch materials and finalist presentations.
- Leveraging proposal management tools, knowledge libraries and best-practice processes to drive efficiency and content quality.
- Analyzing bid outcomes and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased win rates.
- Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of proposal methodologies, content frameworks, AI-enabled tools and pursuit best practices across the business.
Qualifications
The Requirements
We're interested in professionals who combine outstanding project management skills with strong commercial awareness, exceptional writing capability and a collaborative approach. Please note that this role is a 12-month fixed-term assignment supporting maternity leave coverage.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven experience in bid management, proposal management, tender management or pursuit management within insurance, professional services, consulting, financial services or a similarly complex environment.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent proposals and meeting demanding deadlines.
- Strong business writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create persuasive and client-focused content.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage effectively with senior leaders and technical experts.
- Advanced project management and organizational capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience using proposal management platforms such as Loopio, Responsive (formerly RFPIO), Qvidian, Ombud or similar systems is highly regarded.
- Experience incorporating data visualisation, graphics and presentation design into submissions is advantageous.
- Curiosity, initiative and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline are advantageous.
