    Description

    Summary:

As a Senior Product Designer at Neuron, you'll be using Figma daily to translate insights that you have gathered into high-fidelity designs and develop our design system. You'll progress rapidly from conceptual ideas to high-fidelity designs, create prototypes, and conduct user testing sessions to refine features.

If you're passionate about interaction design and translating user research into tangible design outcomes, this role is for you. You'll work on components that span several products for different user groups, ensuring a consistent visual style across all. We value expertise in Figma, including familiarity with its latest features and capabilities. You'll engage directly with our customers - brokers and insurers by leading user interviews and user testing sessions to gain insights into their needs and challenges and drive the product forward.

Collaboration with our development team is key. You'll work closely with developers to ensure smooth handovers and implementation of designs, leveraging Figma's developer-friendly features to bridge the gap between design and engineering.

We’re a team that work both remotely and in person, and work well together online, hopping on spontaneous Slack huddles when needed and using tools like Miro and Figma to collaborate. We ask our London-based team members to come in twice a week (normally on Wednesdays) and encourage face-to-face collaboration whenever it would be valuable.

You'll be part of a startup team within a larger organisation, combining the energy and pace of a startup with the resources and support of an established company. Our approach is research-driven, ensuring our decisions are based on solid user insights.

    The Role:

    You will be accountable for:-

    • Drive user research initiatives to uncover deep insights into broker and insurer needs.
    • Embedding design thinking and research into the way we operate as a team and a business.
    • Identify and articulate product opportunities based on research findings.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to synthesise and share research insights.
    • Craft high-fidelity designs that bring innovative solutions to life.
    • Work closely with developers, product leads, service support and commercial teams to ensure understanding of the designs and how they are implemented.
    • Contribute to the evolution of our design system and product strategy

    Qualifications

    The Requirements:

    What you’ll bring:

    • A portfolio showcasing your user-centred design process and outcomes.
    • Experience in conducting user research and translating findings into actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in design tools, especially Figma.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.
    • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
    • Comfort to use data and insight to challenge thinking and the direction of the product.

    The ideal candidate:

    • Has extensive years of experience in product design, bonus points if you have experience in fintech or insurtech.
    • Demonstrates a passion for solving complex problems with innovative design solutions.
    • Can demonstrate how they embedded research and design thinking into the way a product team operated.
    • Shows curiosity about AI and its applications in transforming traditional industries.
    • Thrives in collaborative environments and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
    • Has experience working in agile methodologies and with cross-functional teams.
    • Values the balance of remote work and in-office collaboration, with the ability to work from our London office once or twice a week.
