Role Summary

The Associate Director – Broking, Construction will be responsible for leading the placement and servicing of complex construction insurance programs. This role requires strong technical expertise, market engagement, and leadership capability. The successful candidate will manage key accounts, negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms, and provide guidance to two direct reports, ensuring delivery of exceptional client service and alignment with WTW standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the broking and placement of construction insurance programs, including CAR, liability, professional indemnity, and project-specific solutions.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for major accounts and ensuring delivery of high-quality service.
  • Develop and implement placement strategies that align with client needs and WTW standards.
  • Negotiate with insurers to secure optimal coverage terms and pricing.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key insurance markets and underwriters.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to two direct reports, supporting their professional development and performance.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, supporting the growth of WTW’s construction portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with WTW policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee documentation, placement processes, and reporting accuracy.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency in broking practices and client servicing.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience (8+ years) in insurance broking, underwriting, or risk advisory, with a focus on construction.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex accounts and delivering client solutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction contracts, risk exposures, and insurance products.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire a small team.
