Description

The Role 

As a Senior Analyst within the GBC, you will contribute as part of a team involved in a number of activities to support our international benefits offerings including:

  • Managing our global benefits survey database activities and production of reports used for project and research based work 
  • Managing the global coordination of benefits for our international clients 
  • Coordinating the placement of benefits for our clients in key international markets 
  • Project managing and service deliver for flexible benefit schemes

 

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have excellent data manipulation skills.  Candidates will likely have a primary focus on one of the four areas above but will have exposure to and opportunities to work across all four.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop technical knowledge of benefits plans around the world 
  • Develop data, process, and project management skills
  • Data management and reporting activities 
    • Actively participate in the planning and preparation process for client benefits
    • Work with configuration and consulting team members to upload and review data in key databases
    • Perform and review data validation and processing work using agreed upon tools, standards and techniques
    • Produce and review validation queries following standards and workflow
    • Develop and review data discrepancy reports
    • Develop data field calculations
    • Assist users with system and provide ongoing technical support

 

Key Activities 

  • Support global benefits coordination and brokerage and international benefits consulting
    • Compile global benefits management reporting and consolidation
    • Support renewal activities
    • Collect, validate and clean benefits enrolment and eligibility data
    • Assist with enrolment processes and ensure dependent data is updated
    • Check monthly vendor invoices and perform premium estimates and reconciliation
    • Support claims management and tracking processes
    • Support benefit audit processes
    • Support interactions between clients, WTW and vendors
  • Project Manage and service delivery of flexible benefit plans
    • Help create processes and SLAs for flexible benefit clients
    • Direct client communication
    • Learn and master Flex tools and applications
    • Understand and become the SME of Flex products
    • Collaborate across teams (H&B, GBC, Configuration, HR, RSG and local teams)
    • Collect, scrub, analyze and interpret client data
    • Prepare reports for both internal and external clients
    • Manage client expectations and account management
    • Communicate on a peer-basis with consultants and clients
    • Reach out to other teams to get the job done
    • Assist with Enrolment, claims, FSA calculations, download information and train clients and/or colleagues on the use of tools

Qualifications

The Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics or business
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with data validation and manipulation in data management tools (advanced Excel skills are essential)
  • Ability to review and check data against subject domain knowledge (e.g., health and group benefits) and understand the data’s applicability/accuracy for the designated purpose
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;  Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Working within tight deadlines; balancing time across multiple, simultaneous projects that may involve different procedures and project team members
  • Collaboration with a global team, including taking accountability for quality and on-time delivery of own work and involving other team members when appropriate
  • Structured problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Continuous improvement mindset – increasing task efficiency and effectiveness with each product or service repetition
  • Previous benefits or insurance experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in English required, proficiency in one additional language preferred
