Overview of the role:
Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement, investment and benefits consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement plans. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension or a defined contribution plan, we work with them to determine the right approach to design, funding, investing, governing and employee engagement that fits their specific goals.
In this exciting role as a Senior Actuarial Consultant – Retirement, you will have the opportunity to support diverse projects related to actuarial valuation, pension program designing, benchmarking, mergers & acquisitions, asset liability studies, forecasting, pension governance, and other special projects as needed. You will also:
Deliver superior and consistent project management for assigned clients.
Draft comprehensive statements of work, project plans, and budgets encompassing multiple workflow streams and client teams.
Act as the primary project lead, ensuring progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing daily communications and service delivery.
Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders through clear communication and efficient, high-quality execution.
Collaborate with colleagues across practices and regions on projects addressing clients’ broader business challenges.
Manage client expectations proactively and escalate issues to Head of Retirement and Client Relationship Managers as appropriate.
Provide actuarial expert consulting on retirement plan valuation, management and design, financial risk management, funding strategies, and special projects involving global consulting, workforce planning, and total rewards.
Advise clients on pension market trends and regulatory issues affecting their pension benefits programs
Keep clients informed about the implications and opportunities arising from changes in laws and regulations affecting retirement plans.
Perform technical reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
Contribute to the development of innovative tools, methodologies, and approaches.
Achieve revenue and billable hour targets as defined by management.
Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
Apply technical expertise to deliver measurable value and contribute directly to client success.
Foster strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
Demonstrate professionalism and confidence when engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Mentor and guide project team associates to support their development.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets & attributes:
5 ~10+ years of experience and success in the design/management of defined benefit and contribution plans, ideally gained in a consulting environment
An undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred
Experience with pension provider or actuarial firm is preferred
Has obtained at least one or more actuarial credentials
Experience and expertise delivering retirement consulting services to Fortune 1,000 or organizations of similar size
A track record of performing core retirement work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements
Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support the ability to contribute to new business generation
Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
Strong analytical and creative skills
Enjoys training/mentoring junior staff
The ability to see the “big picture,” leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients’ business challenges
Intellectual curiosity and the desire to expand one’s business acumen in the retirement and human capital consulting field
Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Native Korean and advanced business level English
