Description

We are looking for a Senior Pensions Analyst – Control Review, a detail-oriented and proactive pensions professional with a strong understanding of controls and governance. You will bring the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement within a complex operational environment.

The role has been established to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Redhill Core & Large Communities Control Framework. It provides independent oversight, assurance, and constructive challenge across scheme administration activities, ensuring key operational risks are identified, managed, and resolved in line with internal policies, scheme rules, and regulatory requirements.

Working under the guidance of an Administration or Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with Team Leaders, Administration Managers, Operations Managers, and Offshore Leads to maintain robust control and governance across operations.

Why Join
This is a key role supporting operational excellence, risk management and governance across the Redhill Core & Large Communities. The position offers high visibility, broad exposure across schemes and teams, and the opportunity to shape and embed a new control framework from the ground up.

The Role

  • Control Framework Delivery
Run and maintain the Control Framework activities across Redhill Core and Large administration teams.
Conduct monthly internal control reviews and periodic deep-dive testing.
Apply a risk-based and sample-based approach to reviews, targeting higher-risk schemes, processes or case types where appropriate.
  • Monthly Control Reviews
Review completion and quality of monthly internal control checklists submitted by teams.
Validate accuracy of attestations through evidence checks and independent testing.
Ensure exceptions, Amber and Red items are clearly documented with appropriate next steps and timelines.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Testing
Perform independent QA testing on benefit calculations and administrative processes.
Review adherence to scheme rules, procedures and use of automated calculations.
Period deep-dive testing into manual calculations to validate accuracy of manual work, highlighting high-risk areas where appropriate.
Identify error trends, root causes and recurring issues.
Produce clear QA outputs with risk ratings and recommended actions.
  • Scheme Administration Health Checks
Support annual scheme health checks covering calculation automation, procedure manuals and data quality.
Carry out targeted deep-dives to validate attestations and identify control gaps.
  • Issue Management & Remediation
Liaise with team leaders, pensions specialists and administration managers to agree remediation actions and timelines.
Track progress and follow up on outstanding actions to closure.
Escalate persistent or material risks through agreed governance routes.
  • Reporting & Governance
Produce clear monthly reporting on control outcomes, findings and themes.
Contribute to quarterly and annual governance reporting as required.
  • Documentation & Evidence Management
Maintain robust audit-ready evidence for all reviews and testing performed.
Ensure documentation is stored in a central, access-controlled repository with appropriate version control.
