At WTW, we’re proud to create an environment where women feel empowered, supported and valued. We asked two incredible colleagues, Sharae Johnson, Senior Associate Employee Experience and Christina Shemo, Associate Director, Health & Benefits, to share their thoughts on what makes WTW a great place for women to thrive. Here’s what they had to say:

How do you feel supported and empowered as a woman at WTW?

Sharae: “Throughout my time here, I’ve had amazing mentorship and sponsorship from senior female leaders. I’ve also been actively involved in inclusion networks like the Gender Equity Network and the Black Colleague Connection, which are supportive of emerging female leaders.”

Christina: “Mentorship has been invaluable for me. I was paired with a senior female mentor and connected with peers to share experiences. We also have a local group for moms of young children, which has been a great source of support as a working mother.”

How do you view work-life balance at WTW?

Sharae: “WTW gives me the flexibility I need to manage work and personal responsibilities. To me, work-life balance is about being able to succeed in both areas, and WTW makes that possible.”

“Flexibility is key. Working from home eliminates the stress of commuting, so I can focus on my work while being present for my family. Our team’s flexible approach means I can prioritize tasks, stay healthy, and spend quality time with my daughter.” Christina Shemo

What aspects of WTW’s culture make it a great place for women to work?

Christina: “Connections are everything here. I regularly interact with female leaders and see women thriving at all levels. Watching these successes motivates me to continue growing in my own career.”

“WTW’s Work Styles program and its strong emphasis on inclusion create a fantastic environment for women. The WTW Recognition program also allows us to celebrate and appreciate each other’s contributions.” Sharae Johnson

How does WTW support women in achieving their professional goals while maintaining their personal priorities?

Sharae: “The Gender Equity Network provides a safe space for women to connect, network, and support each other. WTW also offers leadership programs that empower all colleagues to advance in their careers.”

Christina: “WTW’s flexibility lets me succeed on my own terms. For example, I can start work early in the morning, spend time with my daughter as she gets ready for school, and then return to work. It’s this balance that allows me to excel both personally and professionally.”

Your Turn: What’s your idea of the perfect workplace? At WTW, we’re building a culture where not only women feel empowered to succeed, but everyone does. These stories from Sharae and Christina are just a glimpse of how we support women and all colleagues every day.
