    Description

    As an Absence, Disability Management and Life Insurance Senior Associate, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for large, complex clients involving the design and management of the full array of group disability and broader disability management programs. You will participate in new business activities and the creation of new intellectual capital. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the pivotal point on all projects and working alongside industry experts on cutting edge solutions.
     

    The Role

    • Provide value-added consulting expertise on large, sophisticated Absence, Disability Management and Life (ADML) projects involving short- and long-term disability benefits, leave of absence programs, vacation/paid time-off, sick leave, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance and related programs; sample projects include:

    o ADML benefit plan analysis, design and cost savings strategies

    o Vendor procurement, negotiation and optimization

    o Audits of vendor performance (financial and operational)

    o Paid family and company leave program development

    • Serve as project manager and day to day contact for clients; materially contribute to project plan creation and lead the team on delivery; ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables and quality standards
    • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
    • Complete and master analytical work
    • Contribute to the development of new intellectual capital

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years’ experience and success in the design/management of large group disability plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment; alternatively, similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier or vendor
    • Strong financial skills; prior experience in group disability underwriting or claims management strongly preferred
    • Proven experience creating project plans and successfully leading teams in execution of the project against plan guidelines
    • Demonstrated success in managing client issues and relationships
    • Desire and ability to expand relationships with current clients
    • Polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
    • Self-starter attitude and ability to work individually and as part of a team
    • Flexibility and proven ability to identify and resolve issues
    • Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills
    • Experience in training/mentoring junior staff
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Availability to travel at least 15% (mainly day travel)
    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with significant quantitative coursework
    • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.

    Compensation

    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $90,000-130,000 USD

    This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
